On Health Care:
Health care shouldn't be an expense but an investment
Janicek said, "We don't have a health insurance crisis in this country; we have a health care crisis.
That's caused by the for-profit health insurance business. Health care should not be an expense; it should be an investment. Almost half of the rural hospitals in Nebraska operate in the red."

On Budget & Economy:
Government will have to provide much more stimulus aid
The federal government is addressing the financial strain on people and small business with disaster stimulus aid. I consider this just a down payment on much more aid to come that will be necessary to offset the set-back to our economy.
I would advocate right now for expanded SNAP (food) benefits for all citizens in addition to monthly financial help to keep us at home. This is not an individual problem and it will take all of us to share in the responsibility of our lives and economy.

On Budget & Economy:
Out-of-control spending has to end
Our federal spending is out of control. With the tax "cuts" and job "creations" act of 2017 we added $1.7 trillion to our debt and deficit. With the current coronavirus pandemic we are spending trillions more.
I will work to spend your tax dollars more efficiently, implement new revenues and to cut cost across the board. This out-of-control spending has to end.

On Civil Rights:
Problems get fixed when people vote
Janicek says if you can vote, you need to go out and make your voice heard. "In this state, I hear often that my vote doesn't count," said Janicek. "It is because you
don't show up to vote. Every vote that counts are people who show up and do the voting. We win elections when people vote. Problems get fixed when people vote. I need everyone to get registered, I need you to show up and I need you to vote."

On Civil Rights:
Apologized for sexist texts to woman staffer, won't withdraw
A Senate candidate doubled down on his promise to stay in the race, despite growing pressure to drop out after he sent sexually vulgar text messages to a campaign staffer. Chris Janicek said in a statement that he won't withdraw from the race. "I am a
proud Democrat," Janicek said. "Now is the time for you to realize that I am not going away." Janicek said he repeatedly apologized to the woman. He has argued that, because he's openly gay, his comments shouldn't count as sexual harassment.

On Corporations:
Tax policy hurts working class: overturn corporate tax cuts
Tax policy in our country works against the working class. I will work with Congress to overturn the tax cuts for corporations policy and
provide fair taxation with a return on investment in infrastructure, healthcare and education for all Americans.

On Energy & Oil:
Clean energy must be invested in to avert carbon emissions
We must respect and work to solve climate change and environmental challenges to our world. New clean energy like wind, solar, geo-thermal, hydro and nuclear must be invested in to avert carbon emissions, and the destruction of our planet.
Government has to start working again. We want a democracy to live in and a planet to live on.

On Energy & Oil:
We want a planet to live on and a democracy to live in
Climate change is real and must be addressed. Investments in clean energy will create jobs, reduce our energy cost and reduce carbon emissions.
Wind energy, solar, geo-thermal, hydro, and nuclear are all solutions that Congress must work on to combat climate change. In the end we want a planet to live on and a democracy to live in.

On Free Trade:
Repeal tariffs; work out deals with trade partners
Janicek's platform is centered on making healthcare attainable and affordable for everyone and fixing the tariff issues involved in the agricultural community.
Janicek wants to repeal those tariffs, go back to the negotiating table and work out deals with trade partners.

On Free Trade:
Trade wars work against Nebraska farmers
Janicek said, "Our agribusiness industry had been shattered by this administration and we don't need to be a 'red state' to value and cherish the foundation of our family farms. A trade war with China or anyone else who
purchases our ag products works against Nebraska." He said the nation must develop a sensible strategy that allows our farmers and ranchers to make a living, a strategy that isn't used as a political weapon against other nations.

On Free Trade:
Needs more negotiations with trading partners
The Omaha small business owner says he disagrees with the current trade stance and policies of the Trump Administration. Janicek says there needs to be more negotiations with various trading partners, including China, as tariffs are proving devastating
to agriculture. He also says he found out during discussion with various farm organizations that overseas countries have a stake in some of the larger agri-business companies that are benefiting from government assistance programs.

On Free Trade:
End tariffs through negotiations and better pricing
I will work for our farmers and the farm economy. I want to end the tariffs through trade negotiation and better pricing for profits in our state.
Farming and ranching make up 25% of our state economy. Our farmers deserve better.

On Gun Control:
Supports Second Amendment with background checks & licensing
I support the Second Amendment. We need to enforce the laws already on the books and enhance trouble spots with updates. Over 90% of gun owners as well as myself support gun registration, background checks, gun training, licensing and insurance on
firearm ownership. Semi-automatic weapons and their use should be confined to shooting ranges and gun "library" storage facilities to keep them out of the wrong hands.

On Health Care:
Health care for millions will be my number one priority
I will advocate health care for all Americans. The for-profit insurance industry is destroying access and affordability for the majority of Nebraskans and Americans. Your current senator has voted over and over, and I will say it one more time, over to
take health care away from millions, and to do away with pre-existing condition protections. A single payer plan with massive cost cuts and an end to outrageous CEO pay will provide immediate results. Health care will be my number one priority.

On Homeland Security:
Stop spending so much; have other countries step up
We have to maintain a strong foreign policy with other countries and our allies. The United States spends most of its military budget in the mid-east protecting radical governments and oil production. While it will be necessary to maintain a
presence there, we must stop spending so much of our money and have other countries step up. It will take strong decision making and negotiating skills, which are attainable.

On Immigration:
Endorsed by Latinx group, opposes collaboration with ICE
The League of United Latin American Citizens Council 35005 of Nebraska and President Elsa Ramon Aranda announce their endorsement of Janicek. "Chris understands the Latino voter and the issues the community faces everyday."
Janicek echoed Aranda's sentiments stating, "We are both particularly concerned about 287(g) where collaborations between local jurisdictions and U.S. Immigration-Customs Enforcement allow racial profiling and civil rights violations."

On Immigration:
We need immigrants to work and contribute to our economy
Our Immigration system needs to be reformed immediately. We are spending hundreds of millions to detain and separate families at our borders. Our country needs immigrants to work and contribute to our economy and tax base.
This must be done legally, humanely and efficiently. Those that break and violate our laws will be deported.

On Immigration:
Current immigration system broken & violates human rights
Our immigration system is broken and in violation of human rights and current immigration law. Immigrants crossing the border through legal points of entry seeking asylum should be documented and within 48 hours have a legal decision on residency.
It is costing the U.S. taxpayer hundreds of millions and destroying families and lives through separation and detaining. Our country needs this workforce and input into our economy. Those that break and violate the law should be deported.

On Principles & Values:
Not about left or right, but moving forward
Janicek says he sees himself as a conservative Democrat on most issues "Republican ideas and Democrat ideas don't need to be brought to the table anymore, we need the right ideas.
It's not about moving left, it's not about moving right, it's about moving forward. It's about putting Nebraska back on the map, unifying this state and working for the common good of all the people that live here."

On Principles & Values:
Impeachment about upholding rule of law
While Sasse has criticized Trump's conduct in regards to Ukraine, the senator also has referred to the House's impeachment inquiry as a "partisan clown show." Janicek said the situation is not about particular policy preferences but rather upholding
the rule of law. "While Trump's popularity is good in Nebraska, his presidency can NOT be allowed to continue under the cloud of a man who operates beyond and outside the best interests of our country," Janicek said.

On Principles & Values:
Represent Nebraskans with respect, integrity and worth
I am seeking the United States Senate seat to represent the people of Nebraska. We are sick and tired of politicians who care more about money and special interest than they do about us. I will represent Nebraskans with respect, integrity and worth.
My experience for public office is supported with my social, educational and business background. As a working class citizen I understand what the average person needs and what they are going through. I want to work for the people.

On Technology:
Supports a major infrastructure modernization program
I support a major infrastructure modernization program. This program will create millions of jobs and investments right here at home in our own country. We need to create an infrastructure department in government
to analyze and administer projects addressing our roads, bridges, water treatment plants, shipping ports, airports, electrical grids and overall modernization of our country.
