On Health Care:
Import Canadian prescription drugs
A proposal to import prescription drugs from Canada to New Hampshire attracted bipartisan support winning praise from both the Democrat sponsoring the bill and the Republican he wants to replace. Sen. Dan Feltes told the Senate Commerce Committee that
New Hampshire residents are too often choosing between their health and their financial security. Immediately following Feltes, Gov. Chris Sununu, praised not just Feltes' bill but others before the committee.

On Free Trade:
Congress should pass USMCA trade deal
A new, and better, trade agreement--known as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)--was put forward, we are still waiting for the agreement to be reviewed, and ratified, by the U.S Congress. Every day that passes before the agreement is ratified in
Congress is another day employers, workers and families are not benefiting from the new opportunities it makes possible and the higher standards it sets. We urge Congress to give it prompt consideration and move swiftly forward with ratification.

On Crime:
Supports capital punishment, to support crime victims
New Hampshire became the 21st state to ban capital punishment as the state Senate voted 16-8 to override the governor's veto of a death-penalty repeal. Sixteen votes in the 24-member chamber were required to override the veto.Republican Gov. Chris
Sununu, a staunch opponent of repeal, cited law enforcement and families of crime victims in his reaction to the override vote. "I am incredibly disappointed that the Senate chose to override my veto," the governor said in a statement.
Death penalty opponents withstood a strong lobbying effort by Sununu and active members of law enforcement throughout the state. Sununu came within one vote of having his veto sustained in the House, which voted last week to
override the veto, 247-123, just meeting the two-thirds requirement. Repeal of the death penalty was a major initiative for the Democratic leadership in House and Senate.
