2020 SC Senate race: on Families & Children

Jaime Harrison: How do I tell my black sons that this could be them?

How do I explain to my beautiful black sons they could be treated differently because of the color of their skin? How do I tell them this prejudice could incite those who are sworn to protect and serve them to one day hurt or kill them? It is my worst nightmare to know what could happen some day while my sons are walking home from the store, jogging in the neighborhood or being pulled over by the police.

Lindsey Graham: Support traditional families & right to pray

Lindsey Graham believes strong families are the core of a strong America. He authors and supports legislation that will promote the traditional family structure, keep the federal government out of parental decisions regarding the up-bringing of their children, and ensure religious freedom is protected.

Graham co-sponsored the Religious Liberties Restoration Act, which would recognize the states' authority to decide whether to display the Ten Commandments in buildings owned or administered by that state.

In an effort to require the Architect of the Capitol to permit the acknowledgment of God on flag certificates, Graham co-sponsored the Andrew Larochelle God, Family, and Country Act of 2007 (S.2198, 110th Congress), a bill introduced by former Senator Jim DeMint.

Graham was an original co-sponsor of a resolution that stated people ought to retain the right to pray and recognize their religious beliefs, heritage, and traditions on public property, including schools.<
