On Abortion: We must ALWAYS fight for the right to life

As to right to life, Oregon legislators recently voted down a bill that would have required mandatory medical care for infants who managed to survive an abortion attempt. Can you imagine a baby being left alone and in agony on an operating room tray to slowly die? I'm pro-life, and actions like these are the stuff of nightmares.

On Crime: I'm against defunding our police

WHAT ABOUT DEFUNDING OUR POLICE? I'm against it. Our Baker City Police Department knows it's financially and otherwise supported. Perhaps if Portland's Rapid Response Team had known they were supported, and allowed to do their jobs, Portland would be in much better shape.

On Education: I would like to see a refocus on "old school" school

We have to get our children back into schools, unmasked and in person. Oregon has been focused on political indoctrination in our schools for far too long--and it shows. Oregon ranks abysmally close to last in the country in terms of real, competitive education. I would like to see a refocus on "old school" school. Math. Reading. Writing. Science. Geography. History. Civics. Languages.

On Education: Against implementing Critical Race Theory in the classroom

We're spending our time focusing on horrific plans like implementing Critical Race Theory (CRT) into the classroom. CRT forces young children to constantly view themselves as separate from other children just because of the color of their skin--exactly the opposite of what Martin Luther King, Jr. taught.

On Energy & Oil: Doesn't agree that wildfires are result of climate crisis

The soon-to-be-former governor has a tendency to write off wildfires as the natural result of a climate crisis. I disagree. We have seen catastrophic wildfires on both sides of the state in recent years. It's clear that blocked access to public lands hampers firefighting efforts. It's also clear that federal forest management practices have allowed for an extreme buildup of the fuel load on our forest floors. This needs to change. Log it, graze it, or let it burn, right?

On Environment: Family lived off the grid and worked the land

I'm proud to be a seventh-generation Oregonian. My grandparents, parents, sister and I lived off the grid and worked the land. I remember when my grandparents bought a Pelton wheel for the creek to generate electricity. When the creek ran dry, as it did most Augusts, we relied on the diesel generator. My childhood taught me to be self-sufficient and independent, and it taught me that our farmers, ranchers, miners and loggers are the best possible stewards of the land.

On Gun Control: Second Amendment protects us from a tyrannical government

Our Second Amendment is in place to protect us from a tyrannical government and protect our other amendments. I believe rights like the ability to protect yourself and speak your own mind are God-given, which means these rights are inherently ours-- AND they're wonderfully spelled out in our Constitution.

On Health Care: I am vehemently against vaccine passports

I am vehemently against vaccine passports, or anything else that segregates our people into two classes, one with more rights than the other. Vaccine passport technology is just a step away from modification into the equivalent of China's Social Credit System, and this is a line in the sand we cannot ever cross. As governor, I will promote individual medical freedoms. I would like to see a statewide ban of vaccine passports such as roughly half the other U.S. states have implemented.

On Principles & Values: Turned city into a "Common Sense Sanctuary"

It's time to stand up and fight for our beautiful Oregon while we still can. As Mayor of Baker City, I listened and took action when our local business owners brought forth the idea of turning our city into a "Common Sense Sanctuary." Working with members of City Council, the city's attorney and the City Manager, we declared an economic, mental health and crime crisis due to the Governor's tyrannical mandates and lockdowns.

On Principles & Values: America is the shining light on the hill, fight to save her

If you believe that ?America is the shining light on the hill--and we have to fight to save her, state by state . . . then I'm the candidate for you.
