On Abortion:
Limited to rape, incest, mother's life in imminent danger
Life is a precious gift from God, and I am strongly committed to protecting the rights of the unborn. Abortion should be limited to cases of criminal rape, incest or when the mother's life is in imminent danger.
The National Right to Life Committee has given me a 100% rating, and I will continue to consistently support legislation that protects the rights of the unborn.

On Budget & Economy:
Eliminate unnecessary and wasteful government spending
I have co-sponsored the Balanced Budget Amendment every year I have been in Congress and have consistently fought to eliminate unnecessary and wasteful government spending. A robust private sector--not more government spending--creates real economic
opportunity for families and small businesses. The current level of our national debt is unsustainable and unacceptable. I co-sponsored several bills that call for balancing the federal budget by moving to a biennial federal budget process.

On Civil Rights:
Safeguard traditional marriage; let states define
In the 110th Congress, I co-sponsored a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States declaring that marriage is between a man and a woman. I voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act.
I will continue to work to protect the institution of marriage and will press for policies that safeguard traditional marriages and support the ability of states to determine the definition of marriage within the state.

On Government Reform:
Excessive government regulation is an unnecessary drain
Excessive government regulation is an unnecessary drain on our economy that impedes our nation's growth and costs jobs. I have been a consistent champion of Idaho's farmers and ranchers in standing up against regulations that hurt agriculture
imposed by the Obama Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. I will continue to advocate for eliminating unreasonable federal regulation that hinders the ability of businesses to expand and succeed.

On Gun Control:
I oppose all efforts to weaken the Second Amendment
As a gun owner and lifelong hunter, I am fighting to protect and preserve our constitutional right to bear arms. I do not support gun control; we should not burden law-abiding citizens with additional gun restrictions that will not increase public
safety. I will not support any legislation that hinders the ability of law-abiding citizens to acquire a firearm. I have consistently voted to protect our Constitutional rights and will continue to oppose all efforts to weaken the Second Amendment.

On Health Care:
Oppose Obamacare; government-run health care not the answer
I oppose President Obama's ill-conceived health care plan and am fighting for its repeal and replacement. I have co-sponsored and advocated for legislation to fully repeal Obamacare. As a two-time cancer survivor, I know that patients, families and
doctors need to be free of excessive government interference so they maintain power over their personal healthcare choices. Obamacare wrongly takes power away from patients and hands it to the government. Government-run health care is not the answer.

On Homeland Security:
Strong advocate for Idaho's Air Force Base & National Guard
Idaho is home to the 366th Fighter Wing and some of the Air Force's most impressive assets and capabilities. All our military branches face increasing budget pressures and strain. As the Air Force deals with how to handle budget cuts and manage
necessary force structure changes, I will continue to be a strong advocate for Mountain Home Air Force Base and the Idaho National Guard. I will continue to advocate for the A-10 and future flying missions at Gowen Field.
Our veterans risked everything to protect our freedom. That's why I fight every day to ensure that our veterans receive the benefits they earned. They should never face obstacles to receiving the care or benefits.
I am working to improve the Veterans Administration and ensure our veterans receive the quality health care they deserve. I introduced and co-sponsored legislation to improve veterans benefits and health programs at the VA.

On Tax Reform:
We cannot tax our way to prosperity; simplify tax code
I have been a leader in working to abolish the current federal tax code and replace it with something more simple and fair to working families. I have an A rating from the National Taxpayers Union. Our tax code is far too long, complex and
anti-competitive to serve as the long-term foundation for economic growth. We cannot tax our way to prosperity and need to redesign our tax code with an emphasis on broadening the base, reducing complexity and eliminating anti-competitive provisions.

On Civil Rights:
Flag is enduring symbol of nation's great history
On Flag Day 2021, Crapo joined Senators Steve Daines (R-Montana), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), Shelley Moore Capito (R-West Virginia) and Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota) in introducing a constitutional amendment to prohibit the physical desecration
of the American flag. "The American flag is one of the most visible and enduring symbols of our nation's great history, our struggle for independence and the continued belief in liberty and justice for all," said Senator Crapo.
