Survey of 2021 Senate campaign websites: on Social Security

Haneefah Khaaliq: Maintain Social Security but explore new options

I will work hard with the President and Congress to ensure that this legislation remains for as long as possible while we explore new options and ways and means to secure a more affordable retirement for everyone. I don't see a need to reform the program, but to simply ensure that it fulfills its original purpose.

Morgan Harper: Expand & improve Social Security Disability Insurance & SSI

Disability Rights. We must protect the civil rights and economic security of people with disabilities and their families. We need to expand and improve programs including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to ensure that they are meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families. We must provide quality healthcare to all individuals regardless of disability.

Lucas Kunce: Strengthen Social Security, fight back against privatization

Social Security is one of the few areas where everyday Americans have power. But even when it's still not enough for far too many seniors to keep up with the rising costs of living, Wall Street corporations have kept up their attempts at privatization, hoping to turn a profit by gambling your contributions on the market. Lucas will fight back against these attacks and work to strengthen Social Security so that seniors have the power to retire comfortably and with dignity.

James Lankford: Social Security Disability: nest of fraud & little oversight

Social Security Disability is a nest of fraud and apathetic government oversight. James has held numerous hearings and investigations as well as meeting face to face with many in the Administration to stop the waste. Social Security Disability is designed to help the most vulnerable in our society. When people scam their way into the system, they literally take money away from the disabled and the hard working American taxpayer.

Jim Carlin: Increase Cost-of-Living Adjustment to reflect rising prices

Social Security and Medicare are headed toward bankruptcy. Absent legislation to preserve it, the so-called trust funds will be depleted within 15 years, and millions of seniors will face cuts in their monthly benefits. The Social Security and Medicare Program must be made solvent and secure for the next generation. The Cost-of-Living Adjustment should be increased for current recipients to accurately reflect the rising prices of food, shelter, medicine and prescription drugs.
