Christopher Kurka in 2022 AK Governor's race
On Abortion:
Former Executive Director of Alaska anti-abortion group
As the former Executive Director of Alaska's only statewide organization dedicated to the end of abortion, I have vetted candidates, pled with politicians, and written legislation in an effort to bring about the end of the greatest atrocity of our
history.I will work tirelessly to: - Support and sign pro-life legislation that will save innocent human lives
- End state funded abortion

On Abortion:
Guarantee equal protection for children in the womb
The Alito decision destroys the concept that abortion is found in the right to privacy. The Alaska Supreme Court's opinions on the topic are null and void (not the that they should have been followed to begin with). On day one of a Kurka administration
I will end the abortion payments to Planned Parenthood. I will continue to push the legislature to pass the Life at Conception/Pre-born Child Equality Act, guaranteeing the equal protection under the law for children in the womb.

On Crime:
We need a justice system where punishment fits the crime
Alaska needs a criminal justice system where punishment fits the crime and victims are protected. Every Alaskan deserves to feel safe and protected in this great State we call home.
As Governor, I will do everything in my power to foster such an environment by fighting for criminal justice reform that ensures criminals have fair consequences for their crimes and victims receive restitution.

On Drugs:
The only real solution to addiction is Jesus Christ
Ultimately this is really not a problem the government can solve. The only real solution to addiction is Jesus Christ, the one who came to testify to the truth and set the captives free.
Only He can save us from all our unrighteousness, failures and addictions.

On Environment:
Shouldn't tolerate Federal oversight of our resources
Alaska is a great state with abundant natural resources and, perhaps more importantly, a fiercely independent people.
We do not need, nor should we tolerate, the out-of-control powers that be in D.C. telling us how to live or develop our resources.

On Government Reform:
Elections certified only after a hand-count of every ballot
When a nation loses its ability to trust its elections, it has, to some degree, lost hope of change or the peaceful hand over of power. I call for a thorough audit of the 2020 election in every precinct in Alaska.
Our election system needs to be thoroughly reviewed and every election certified only after a hand-count of every ballot.

On Government Reform:
Need someone who will stand in the way of federal overreach
As a third generation Alaskan I'm deeply concerned about my children's future. Alaska has been ranked as one of the worst places to do business in. Over the last two years Alaskans have suffered under economic and healthcare tyranny.
We need someone in the Governor's office who will fight for freedom and Constitutional governance and who will stand in the way of federal overreach.

On Gun Control:
Blaming crime on guns is like blaming arson on matches
Oppressive gun laws often end up only producing more crime. I think that blaming crime on guns is like blaming arson on matches. I'm a firm believer in the individual right to keep and bear arms as enshrined in the Second Amendment to our United
States Constitution. I also believe the right to defend yourself from evil-doers is the foundation of a free society. I'll stand up to the gun-grabbers and vehemently oppose any new gun-control schemes coming from our out-of-control Feds.
I will eagerly support and sign legislation like a Carry on Campus bill. This kind of legislation would allow law-abiding Alaskan students to carry a handgun on campus to protect themselves.
We Alaskans are a tough breed and I know that you, like me, value your right to carry in order to protect ourselves and our families--one of our most basic human rights.

On Health Care:
Vaccine/health mandates are unconstitutional, unconscionable
Vaccine/health mandates are both unconstitutional and unconscionable for a free people. It is the duty of government to
protect the individual liberty of the people to make our own healthcare decisions.

On Principles & Value:
Comparing vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany is appropriate
Some compared vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany. "Sometimes we draw parallels to what preceded the evils that happened in Nazi Germany. And people accuse us of being salacious and hyperbolic," said Rep. Christopher Kurka,
R-Wasilla, an event co-sponsor. "But when you're dealing with extreme evil, and when you're dealing with authoritarian tyranny, I mean, what do you compare it to?"

On Principles & Values:
Regretted not being in D.C. on January 6, 2021
During a House floor session, Representative Christopher Kurka (R-Wasilla) gave a floor speech where he said he regretted not being in D.C. on January 6.
He condemned the violence and talked about peaceful protest, but he legit said he regretted not being there. Wild. He also said a lot of the unindicted coconspirators were likely "federal agents."

On Principles & Values:
COVID: Wrong to open liquor stores but not church of God
Kurka said, "Remember Dunleavy's [COVID-19] dictates were that marijuana shops were essential but houses of worship were not? To the governor in a state already staggering under alcohol and drug abuse, pot shops and liquor stores
meant more than the church of God. The man who promised to stand tall for Alaska chose to stand down."

On Tax Reform:
Lower taxes & fees on small businesses and individuals
Kurka said he would work to cut what he called wasteful spending and to lower taxes on small businesses and individuals.
He said that state license and permit fees are taxes.
