Christopher Kurka: We need a justice system where punishment fits the crime

Alaska needs a criminal justice system where punishment fits the crime and victims are protected. Every Alaskan deserves to feel safe and protected in this great State we call home. As Governor, I will do everything in my power to foster such an environment by fighting for criminal justice reform that ensures criminals have fair consequences for their crimes and victims receive restitution.

Les Gara: Voted to hire more cops in rural areas without protection

He has voted to help us hire more law enforcement in Anchorage, around the state and in the many rural villages that have no police protection all when someone is in danger. Clearly, we need stronger law enforcement to fight back against the crime wave.
