Lynda Blanchard in 2022 AL Governor's race

On Civil Rights: Don't pit color against color; we are all the same

Blanchard said that she is sensitive to the Critical Race Theory issue because several of her children are adopted and not white. "You don't pit color against color," Blanchard said. "You can't start with the mindset that you are the winner and you are the victim. We are all immigrants. We are all the same."

On Health Care: Socialistic medicine will not work in America

[On healthcare in Slovenia]: "Serving as U.S. Ambassador for President Trump, I saw firsthand the ineffectiveness of social medicine in Slovenia, a former socialist country. There were long wait times for care, some more than six months, and worse during COVID. Mandating vaccines and taking away healthcare decisions are another form of socialistic medicine. This will not work in America. I agree with President Trump's recent statement that 'taking the vaccine is a personal decision."

On Principles & Values: Praying about changing from senate to governor's race

I can tell you that I've been all over this state, and there are a lot of people that want everything Trump. And they want a Trump governor, as well. So I do have people reaching out to me. I'm praying about it, and you know, I'm in the race for U.S. Senate, and love the president and respect anything that he would like.

Any way that I can support the president and support the Republican Party, I'm willing to do," Blanchard added. "So, I'm praying about everything.

On Tax Reform: Slovenians can't live with 50% taxes, we don't want that

Living in Slovenia where the taxes are 50 percent, "They can't get into see a doctor. If 50 percent is going to the government there is nothing left to live on. That is what we don't want."
