• Protect funds for pre-college programs, Tech-prep and Perkins Loans
• Support efforts to connect college students to the right people and resources within their community to improve the chances of job acquisition
• Support and introduce legislation that closes the widening gap between cost of living and cost of education as college tuition and fees have risen nearly three times as fast as median family income

On Energy & Oil: Invest in renewable energy, but include coal in the mix

• Support legislation to reduce Green House Gas 80% by 2050
• Support investment in the Green Jobs Sector
• Help readjust blue collar workers for a greener economy
• Support an all inclusive approach to energy (which includes coal) while exploring greater ways to reduce dependence on foreign oil and investing more into renewables such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal energy production
• Support the building of a national network of electric charging stations

On Environment: Ensure access to clean drinking water and clean air for all

• Ensure that all Americans have access to clean drinking water and clean air
• Help provide quicker relief to cities and townships affected by chemical leaks or spills
• Support changing out of lead pipes
• Make sure all Americans--especially those living in rural areas and poor communities--have opportunities to tie into sewer or septic systems
• Support modernization of ports and waterways

On Families & Children: Oppose efforts to limit Family and Medical Leave Act

• Oppose efforts which seek to limit the circumstances under which an employee is able to take unpaid leave under The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993
• Support expansion of the FMLA to cover workers in companies with fewer than fifty employees
• Support the rights of workers promised sick leave as well as those promised paid time off

On Free Trade: Oppose agreements without recognized workers' rights

• Support efforts to strengthen trade law enforcement
• Oppose legislation which implements bilateral, regional or unilateral free trade agreements with nations who refuse to adopt internationally recognized workers' rights and environmental standards
• Ensure that the exchange rate of any exporting nations is not misaligned against the U.S. dollar, preventing dumping or subjecting the country to antidumping duty provisions

On Government Reform: Support all efforts to end voter suppression

• Support all efforts to end voter suppression
• Oppose any efforts to silence the voice of voters
• Oppose any efforts to undermine The Voting Rights Act, especially those that misrepresent minority representation through gerrymandering Congressional districts

• Work with the Offices of the Secretary of Health and Human Services to use the bargaining power of 40 million Medicare beneficiaries to negotiate better drug prices while also providing beneficiaries with an option to obtain drug coverage directly from Medicare rather than a private plan
