On Government Reform: Election was fair; legislature focus is conspiracy theories

[On 2020 presidential election and ongoing Arizona audit]: "You know there's people who still refuse to acknowledge the election results were fair and balanced," Mr. Lopez explained. "Arizonans have moved on and are now worried how to get their kids to school and what jobs they're going to have available after this pandemic eases up," he continued. "They're not worried about what's happening there at the Capitol with all these conspiracy theories."

On Government Reform: Listen and follow the data; don't make it political

[On Intel]: "When I was at DHS, I would wake up and get an intelligence briefing," he said. "They would tell us everything that was going on from a threat perspective, and it was up to us to use data, science, technology, analytics, human intelligence, computer intelligence to make a decision." That's an approach Arizona could benefit from: Listen and follow the data. Instead, leaders "put politics over solid decision-making," he said, contributing to the deaths of nearly 17,000 Arizonans.

On Health Care: Improving access to high-quality health care is essential

Lopez expressed what his main priorities would be as Governor. He said he would work to improve the quality of education to raise Arizona from 49th in the country for per capita spending. That is tied to another priority of creating and attracting more quality jobs, as he has done with being involved in the development of Skybridge at Mesa Gateway Airport. Thirdly, he said improving access to high-quality health care to more people would be essential, also positively affecting the economy.
