Mark Meuser in 2022 CA Senate race
On Abortion:
Against abortion; it's a state's rights issue
Meuser said he supports the recent leaked draft from the Supreme Court that would overturn Roe v. Wade and erase a federal right to have an abortion, calling it the proper constitutional decision,
adding that he is against abortion, but said he believes it's a state's rights issue and would fight for California's right to decide.

On Budget & Economy:
The Federal Government needs to start balancing its budget
Mueser said the federal government could use a little more finance savvy. "The Federal Government needs to start balancing its budget like the state and businesses do, and we do at home," explained
Meuser. "When the Federal Government spends money we don't have, it increases money supply which is one of the leading factors behind inflation.

On Crime:
Criminals do not fear any repercussions for their actions
[On San Francisco crime]: "Californians are tired of the ongoing crime wave in this state, and Americans across the country are looking at California with concern that policies that are being implemented in this state will come to them.
It's sad that someone can't come enjoy dinner in this once beautiful city without the expectation that their belongings will be ransacked by criminals that do not fear any repercussions for their actions."

On Education:
Schools are failing children
If 2010 was the year of the tea party, than 2022 will be the year of the Parent Party. Parents are fed up with politicians putting the interest of lobbyists ahead of their children.
Parents are fed up with politicians playing politics with their children's education. Parents are fed up with their children being pawns in the political agenda of others.
You heard it here first, 2022 will be the year that Parents step up and hold their elected officials accountable for ensuring that their children receive a proper education.
In 2022, it will be the school board election races that will drive many parents to the polls because they realize the schools are failing their children.

On Education:
Funding should follow the student rather than fund systems
Children are stuck in failing schools and many hard-working families have limited resources to ensure their children are properly educated. Mark firmly believes that education funding should always follow the student, rather than fund systems.
He will be a strong supporter of any proposal that focuses federal fund support for students regardless of where they and their parents choose to go.

On Energy & Oil:
Grant drilling permits; encourage domestic oil production
He hopes to combat the Biden Administration's reckless policies that have resulted in record high gas prices by supporting grant drilling permits and encourage domestic oil production in the country.
Meuser says the record high price of gas, and record high inflation, is a clear sign that the United States needs to pursue becoming energy independent once again.

On Energy & Oil:
I can't get a straight definition on what climate change is
When asked if climate change is real, Meuser answered, "I ask people to define what climate change is.
I can't get a straight definition on what climate change is."

On Free Trade:
Encourage US manufacturing, don't rely on foreign industry
The shortages at stores of things we use on a daily basis or wanted to give as gifts during the holidays illustrated how reliant we are on goods manufactured overseas.
We need policies that allow for and encourage manufacturing in the United States so that we are not reliant on foreign governments or industries for the products we use on a daily basis.

On Government Reform:
Time to start reining in the unelected bureaucrats
Meuser told The Chronicle he is running because he's a "constitutionalist" who believes in limited government authority and seeing the past few years of COVID mandates made him want to go to
Washington to pare it back. "It became abundantly clear that it was time for the legislature to start reining in the unelected bureaucrats, and that the only way I could do that was really by becoming a legislator," Meuser told the editorial board.

On Government Reform:
Can't have confidence in the results of 2020 election
Perhaps not surprisingly, Meuser also questions the results of the 2020 election. "There are so many irregularities about this election that
I do not feel any American who looks at it can have confidence that they know what the actual results are," he said.

On Gun Control:
On universal background checks, Congress shall not infringe
On the subject of gun control, when asked if he supports universal background checks, he replied, "I believe the
Second Amendment says 'shall not infringe.' Congress shall not infringe."

On Health Care:
COVID isolation policy caused poor job market & inflation
[Letters posted on Twitter]: Dear Gavin,I appreciate your concern for Californians struggling to make ends meet with record inflation, gas prices, and a poor job market (which you caused with your COVID policies).
But government spending is what
has caused record inflation in the first place.
Your 'solution' will only make the problem worse. Your 'solution' doesn't get to the causes of inflation.
When I am elected to the U.S. Senate, I will start working on the root causes right away.
I will stop the reckless government spending.
Dear Dr. Fauci and Gavin Newsom,
Your policies during #covid where people were isolated not because of health status but based on your determination of how essential their
occupation was not only violated their Due Process rights but it also contradicted the science.
Follow the science should not be a sound bite, it should actually be the guiding principle of a governor and public health official.

On Health Care:
Won't comment on publicly was his vaccination status
One thing Meuser wouldn't comment on publicly was his vaccination
status. "That is something that is between me and my doctor and nobody else's business," he said.

On Immigration:
Don't defund the border patrol
Crime - people do not feel safe and what I can do about it when I am elected to U.S. Senate.
(Hint the answer is not to defund the police or border patrol as my opposition wants to do).

On Immigration:
Strengthen law enforcement's ability to protect the border
Biden's refusal to enforce existing immigration laws has caused the crisis on our southern border. The crisis hits our communities every day by increasing the supply of deadly drugs and enabling human traffickers to take advantage of the most
vulnerable - our children. Congress needs to rein in the power of the President, ensuring that he will enforce the law and to provide the necessary resources strengthening law enforcement's ability to protect the border.

On Principles & Values:
Vote twice: short-term and long-term Senate on same ballot
Please share to educate California voters:When Kamala Harris became Vice President, she resigned her Senate seat. The U.S. Constitution permits Gavin Newsom to appoint her successor but that appointment is only valid until Election Day (November 8th).
As such, I am on your ballot twice, once for the short term which covers November 9th to January 3. This means California can end the 50/50 Senate and make sure there is no lame duck session after the #RedWave2022.
You can vote for me a second time for the full term that begins January 3rd.
I am the only challenger to Gavin Newsom's appointed Senator who purchased a ballot statement for both the short term and the full term.
Do not split your vote, #VoteTwice for me to be your United States Senator.

On Principles & Values:
Compared seized Trump documents to raid on Obama
A Republican candidate is facing criticism after comparing the FBI's raid of Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence to hypothetical law enforcement action against top Democrats. "Imagine the backlash if while he was in office,
Trump had Obama's home raided and AOC's phone seized," Mark Meuser, a constitutional and election law attorney, wrote in a Twitter post. "Are you tired of the double standard?" he added.

On Principles & Values:
Calls those saying he can't win "uncircumcised Philistines"
Rev. Jerry Cook set the stage for "meet the candidates" at Freedom's Way Baptist Church in Santa Clarita, California. Meuser invoked a term David used to describe Goliath before killing the giant: "Many people say, hey, you live in
California, the home of the fruits, the nuts, and the flakes. You have no chance to win. And every time somebody tells me I have no chance I mutter under my breath, another uncircumcised Philistine."

On War & Peace:
Foreign policy weakness allowed Russian invasion of Ukraine
President Biden March 26 speech in Poland: "Ukraine and its people are on the frontlines fighting to save their nation. And their brave resistance is part of a larger fight for an essential democratic principles that unite all free people: the rule of
law; free and fair elections; the freedom to speak, to write, and to assemble; the freedom to worship as one chooses; freedom of the press.[Meuser's reply]: Dear Brandon,
Just writing you a quick note. Words have meaning. When you express concern
that arming a "Resistance" in Ukraine could have consequences, you are using the wrong term. The government of Ukraine and its military is not a "Resistance." They are defending themselves from an invasion. By referring to a "Resistance," you signal
your belief that the Russians have already won.
Your foreign policy weakness encouraged Russia to attack Ukraine. Your use of the wrong terms will only encourage them more.
Signed,
Someone Who Doesn't Like Unnecessary Wars

So many irregularities about the 2020 election
Earlier this year, California Republican nominee Mark Meuser told television station KPIX 5 of the 2020 election: "There are so many irregularities about this election that I do not feel any American who looks at it can have confidence that they know
what the actual results are."Meuser is making a longshot challenge to incumbent Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla, who beat him in the 2018 secretary of state race. Meuser's campaign did not respond to a request for comment for this article.
