On Civil Rights: 2013: Sued to stop gay marriage going into effect in Hawaii

State Rep. Bob McDermott has filed a new motion to ask Circuit Court Judge Karl Sakamoto to reconsider "a serious constitutional issue." Monday is the day when marriage licenses become available for same-sex couples. Sakamoto rejected McDermott's lawsuit to stop gay marriage in Hawaii on Nov. 14, a day after the historic legislation was signed into law. On Environment: Shut down Navy fuel site that has contaminated local water

McDermott has been outspoken about the Navy water crisis. He said one of the main reasons for running is that he wants a complete shutdown of the military's Red Hill facility within a year. He said the current congressional delegation is "satisfied" that the Navy is complying with the state Department of Health's order to suspend operations and drain the tanks. On Immigration: Open border policy is harmful to American security

The current Biden open Boards [sic] policy is harmful to Americans security relating to terrorism, drugs, and human trafficking.
