2022 ID Governor's race: on Abortion

Brad Little: Proud to have led the country in protecting preborn lives

Our nation's highest court returned the issue of abortion to the states to regulate--end of story. The U.S. Justice Department's interference with Idaho's pro-life law is another example of Biden overreaching yet again while he continues to ignore issues that really should demand his attention--like crushing inflation and the open border with Mexico. Here in Idaho, we are proud that we have led the country in protecting preborn lives.

Janice McGeachin: Remove all exceptions for abortion, including life of woman

Idaho Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin called on Gov. Brad Little to call a special session of the Legislature to remove the three exceptions in Idaho's current "trigger law" banning abortion, saying she wants to "make Idaho a state where life is fully and unconditionally protected."

McGeachin called the current trigger law "insufficient, containing numerous exceptions and carve-outs." She said, "No child should ever be murdered because of the circumstances surrounding his or her conception."

Stephen Heidt: Complex decision should be made by woman and her doctor

All life is precious whether it's an unborn child, someone born into poverty, or a prisoner on death row. Abortion is a complex decision that needs to be made in privacy by the woman and her doctor. The government should be doing whatever is necessary to make life the most attractive choice.
