2022 LA Senate race: on Health Care

Gary Chambers: Supports extending Medicare coverage to everyone

A political newcomer has posted an online video ad certain to draw more attention and, perhaps, campaign donations--it shows him smoking marijuana while decrying racial disparities in arrests for the drug. In an interview, Chambers said he doesn't expect the ad to define his campaign, which includes support for President Joe Biden's legislative agenda, and extending Medicare coverage to everyone.

Luke Mixon: Healthcare is a right, not a privilege

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege:

Medicaid expansion in Louisiana gave over 500,000 hard-working Louisianans healthcare that they desperately needed. However, Senator Kennedy has repeatedly tried to take their coverage away. We need leaders who will work to lower the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs, not career politicians who want to rob working families of their coverage.

Luke Mixon: Life-saving drugs should be affordable

In the wealthiest nation on earth, living-saving drugs should be affordable. Instead, we see neighboring countries enjoying the benefits of affordable medicines while Americans go broke at the pharmacy. I will fight to ensure that no one has to choose between filling a prescription and paying the light bill.
