Katrina Christiansen in 2022 ND Senate race

On Energy & Oil:
Establish industries in the face of technology disruption
North Dakota is one of the largest energy producers in the country but shockingly, for more than a decade into the oil boom, very little has been established to establish industries that flourish here in the face of technology disruption.
We need a senator who can separate the boondoggles from the real opportunities. Katrina can do this, as a trained engineer.

On Health Care:
Expand Medicare to cover vision, hearing
Medicare needs to meet the needs of seniors by covering the things that keep our seniors healthy and apart of our lives and communities. Medicare needs to cover prescription drugs.
We need to cap prescription drug prices. Full stop. No one needs to worry about getting off medication because it is too much for the monthly budget.
Let's close the prescription drug gap for seniors.
Medicare also needs to cover, 100%, hearing aids and prescription lenses for our seniors. These seniors need these items to have fulfilling lives.

On Local Issues:
Develop in state processing for locally grown crops
North Dakota is the leading producer in the USA for spring wheat, durum wheat, oats, canola, flaxseed, and more. We need to do more to support growth in those markets and leverage the state's unique growing environment for cooler weather crops.
We need to give our growers alternatives so they can prosper. We need to develop innovative , low utility processing for producers in the state that keep earnings in the state.

On Abortion:
Don't make a child carry a rapist pregnancy
[Republican incumbent Governor John] Hoeven hit [Independent State Rep. Rick] Becker for past votes against anti-abortion legislation, which Becker said were "some bad votes." [Democratic-NPL nominee Katrina] Christiansen criticized Hoeven
for "vilifying" women in "the most grievous moments" who seek late-term abortions. Hoeven, who as governor signed North Dakota's 2007 trigger law banning abortions with some exceptions, questioned whether
Christiansen would allow abortions up to the point of birth.Christiansen queried her opponents on whether they would support further restrictions on abortion, such as making "a child carry a rapist pregnancy" and
restricting access to birth control. She wondered how North Dakota's attorney general would address ectopic pregnancies, which can be life-threatening.
