Sen. Maggie Hassan is pushing the Biden administration to apply the new law against surprise medical bills to more kinds of health care providers. "Patients shouldn't need to question every doctor and nurse who treats them, nor should they have to parse through regulatory language to determine if a specific facility is covered by this law," Hassan wrote in a letter.
Hassan has campaigned on the notion that the right to abortion is in jeopardy in all 50 states if Republicans gain control of Congress. Bolduc, though, said if elected, he would not support a 15-week abortion ban recently proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham. "I would vote no on that because the federal government is way too much in our business. Granite Staters will be better served by working through their legislature to address that issue, not the federal government," Bolduc said.
The Hassan campaign released a digital ad on Monday that focuses on Bolduc's "get over it" comment.
