2022 NY Governor's race: on Health Care

Andrew Giuliani: I am anti-mandate for COVID vaccinations

I am anti-mandate [for COVID vaccination]. I believe that this should be a decision that parents, people, their families, and their doctor make. This is not something that the government should impose on any New Yorker. And I'm very happy with what I'm seeing not just in the Supreme Court, but also in New York State court here. I think that we're going to continue to see that these mandates are unconstitutional. And I would roll them back.

Joe Pinion: COVID policy mandates have no basis in science

"We can build this coalition of police officers who have been aggrieved; of nurses who were heroes a year ago and today find themselves on the unemployment line without access to the unemployment benefits, they've been paying into their entire professional lives because of COVID policy mandates that have no basis in science," he added.

Kathy Hochul: Support for ACA contraception mandate cost her re-election

When I was in Congress, in the minority, we spent time, at least 35 times, maybe 40 debating whether we should repeal the Affordable Care Act. If I voted once to repeal that, I'd still be a member of Congress. Absolutely, that became a defining issue in my narrow loss, as well as my support for the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act. That is what I was--and I will use the term--crucified. As a Catholic, I can say that.

Letitia James: Asks Supreme Court not to block COVID vaccine mandate

New York Attorney General Letitia James urged the Supreme Court to deny a request from a group of New York health care workers to block the state's vaccine mandate, arguing that the emergency rule requiring vaccinations for certain health care workers is necessary to combat the spread of the virus, which can lead to a "vicious cycle of staff shortages and deterioration of patient care."
