On Civil Rights: Publicly read a June Pride Month proclamation

About 50 people showed up for the meeting, most of whom were in the audience for two reasons. Mayor Jason Beebe was scheduled to read a June Pride Month proclamation, which drew supporters of the LGBTQ community. Others showed up to respond to comments made in a previous meeting by Councilor Steve Uffelman regarding COVID vaccination.

On Government Reform: Remove overbearing COVID restrictions on businesses

I am doing everything I can to advocate for removing regulations imposed by our state government, which includes looking under every rock to find a solution for our businesses. I want to be clear that I am not encouraging citizens or businesses to defy state law. What I am trying to do is get these overbearing restrictions removed so that we can live our lives with the liberties and freedoms guaranteed to us by our Constitution and fought and sacrificed for by generations of Americans.

On Technology: Local Facebook expansion means tech and trade jobs

Facebook announced that it will add two new buildings to its campus in Prineville. "This latest investment into their site in Prineville is a continuation of the great partner they are for the City and the community," Beebe said. "The technical jobs that come with expansions like these are great, but there is not as much focus on the jobs that are created from the trade industries. Plumbers, electricians, construction workers, and many more trades are in high demand at sites like Facebook's."
