On Budget & Economy: Infrastructure projects will create jobs now, in the future

We need to develop infrastructure projects that will create jobs both now & in the future. Broadband installation throughout Idaho and the US is a great example. Not only are jobs created for the installation project, but imagine the economic potential for Idaho: The ability to telecommute, new business and educational opportunities throughout the state and even into our rural communities, and new highway and transportation systems that shorten our commutes and increase our time with our families.

On Education: Universal pre-K, appropriate compensation of teachers

On Education: Finance college through Community Service Payback Program

Most of us know that if we pay for something with our own money or labor, we appreciate it so much more. And it's even more rewarding to share what we have learned, giving back to our community to help others. That is the premise of the Community Service Payback Program--Paying it forward to pay it back. Vocational, community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities would be paid for through reduced tuition expenses from various programs.

On Energy & Oil: Wind & solar power cuts our dependence on foreign oil

The climate is changing--At this point, it does not matter whether it is caused by human activity or not. We need to accept the reality and do everything we can to fight it. Many of the things we can do to prevent, or at least slow climate change, will help to solve other problems as well. Wind & solar power cuts our dependence on foreign oil, greatly decreasing our energy costs, and creates many new jobs.

On Energy & Oil: Encourage transition to "nearly free" wind and solar energy

Wind, solar, and solar-thermal technology not only help our climate, create jobs, and produce nearly free energy, but can also give us the added boost we need to finally break free from these petrol-political alliances that have cost us so much. We must encourage transitioning to these free sources of energy by providing long-term state and federal tax incentives. This will create even more higher paying jobs at home while also decreasing our energy costs.

On Free Trade: Tariffs and trade war with China put our farmers at risk

The tariffs are causing our Idaho dairies and farmers to suffer more than we know. Many of our dairies and farmers are at risk of closing because the subsidies only provide mere pennies on the dollar, one Idaho County wheat farmer received a subsidy check for only $2 in total for 2018! There are smarter ways to deal with the trade issues with China that won't put our dairy & agriculture farmers at risk of closing. We must protect our farmers!

On Government Reform: Keep public lands in Federal hands to preserve them

We must keep public lands public and protected, accessible for hunting, recreation, and for 'all' our enjoyment. We are being lied to when told that public lands are a 'states rights' issue! The real motivation here is to turn our lands over to State control--Idaho cannot afford all the services that the Federal government provides, then the State admits they can't afford to maintain our lands, so the State would then be "forced" to sell! Then they are sold off to commercial interests.

On Gun Control: In favor of Comprehensive Universal Background Checks

Comprehensive Universal Background Checks actually identify who the good guys are, you, and protecting the rights you deserve while making it easier to identify those who should not have a firearm. We will never be able to stop all gun violence as there is no single or simple cure or solution, but identifying, protecting, and rewarding those of us responsible gun owners that do everything right will go a long way to keeping guns out of the hands of those who should never have a firearm.

On Health Care: Proposes Dual Payer plan, free to choose primary coverage

Under Dual Payer, all commercial insurance, union insurance, or your plan through the ACA will always be first payer for healthcare costs. Comprehensive Medicare will pick up the rest.

All people will be fully covered, utilizing both commercial health insurance or the ACA, with Comprehensive Medicare as the secondary payer. You will get to keep whatever insurance you already have--If you like it. It's still a free market under my plan, so you are free to get your primary coverage from anywhere.

On Immigration: Expedite asylum requests, implement DACA, re-task ICE

On Jobs: Create regional minimum wage based on local economy

I have developed a 'Geo-fiscal living wage' calculation, which considers the regional cost of living, affording people a living wage based upon the economy and COLA of the area in which they live. This basically means that the impractical 'flat $15-per-hour-regardless-of-where-you-live' proposal does not take into consideration 'real-life' scenarios, and especially regional cost of living variables.

On Jobs: Equal compensation for equal work

The solution here has always been simple, and a fight I'm committed to winning: Equal compensation for equal work, equitable treatment in all environments, and equal rights to privacy in all traditional ways, including personal health decisions.

On Principles & Values: Constitution designed to force officials to compromise

Many of us seem to have forgotten that our US Constitution was purposefully designed to force our elected officials, regardless of how extreme their ideas might be, to come together and hammer out compromise and solutions that work for the greater good of all. If we don't follow this design, then nothing gets done. This is what we are experiencing now.

On Social Security: We paid into Social Security, we are actually entitled to it

We have paid into these programs for our entire working lives and deserve to reap the benefits that we are due. Do not buy the nonsense that these programs are 'entitlements', but rather are programs that we paid in to, and actually are entitled to! Most of the problems with Social Security are because Congress "borrowed" trillions of dollars in IOU's from our Social Security and Medicare, with no apparent plan to pay it back.

On Tax Reform: Trickle-up tax relief plans can stimulate and grow economy

We need to use targeted infrastructure projects to create new jobs, affordable access to education, and job training. Trickle-up tax relief plans can both stimulate and grow the economy, strengthening the middle-class by creating more and better-paying jobs that allow people to become self-sufficient. And employee-retention based tax incentives can encourage businesses to hire and retain employees.

On Tax Reform: Change tax policy to advantage of middle class, not top 1-2%

A strong and productive middle class is the engine that drives our economy. The middle class--not the top one or two percent--spends the money that creates jobs and a productive economy, increases revenue, and pays down our debt. We must change our focus and tax policy to what I call a 'trickle-up economy,' giving the advantage to the people that actually work hard and spend money in this economy.
