Survey of 2022 Senate campaign websites: on Technology

Alex Lasry: Ensure access to high speed affordable internet for all

We need the federal and state government to ensure that all Wisconsinites have access to high speed, accessible and affordable internet. Every Wisconsinite should be on an equal footing when it comes to opportunity, and universal broadband access would help bridge that gap. Our students are Wisconsin's future, and if we don't invest in them, then they won't be able to invest in Wisconsin, which is one of the many reasons why I will fight for equitable broadband access across our state.

Alex Padilla: Bill created statewide Earthquake Early Warning System

In 2006, Alex was elected to the State Senate. As an engineer, he fought for the ethical advancement of science and technology. He authored legislation protecting Californians from discrimination based on genetic information and wrote the bill creating a statewide Earthquake Early Warning System.

Bernie Moreno: Pass smart legislation that holds Big Tech accountable

Rather than supporting our First Amendment rights, Big Tech companies are threatening them. They colluded to erase President Trump from the internet because they hate what he represents. If they can silence him, what will they do to the rest of us? We need to pass smart legislation that holds Big Tech accountable for their actions and makes it more difficult for them to silence free speech.

Brian Bengs: Congress can't ignore impact of automation on job market

Rapid advancements in automated intelligence and artificial intelligence technology are posed to fundamentally change the U.S. job market within the next 10 to 20 years. The increased productivity and cost reduction of automation is obviously quite appealing to business but Congress cannot simply ignore the likely impact on our economy and society. I will work proactively with business and labor leaders to develop innovative policies that smooth the transition.

Eli Bremer: We need to address the sickness caused by social media

Social Media platforms are tearing our nation apart. They have come to be used as information platforms vital to our communications systems in both the government and private sector, yet they have no oversight and routinely attempt to "tip the scales" inappropriately. As a nation, we need to address the sickness caused by social media and create a cohesive strategy around how these platforms are operating in America.

Joan Farr: 5G gave my family COVID, under U.N. directive Agenda 21/30

I would like to see 5G abolished, since I know that it was used to give my family member Covid. These harmful and horrific structures should be removed.

I believe that Covid was created to justify mail-in ballots to keep Trump out of office, and that the vaccine is the Mark of the Beast. I wholeheartedly support mass pro se lawsuits to end the pandemic.

Many people don't realize that Covid is a form of 'population control' under a U.N. directive called Agenda 21/30. Not only are people dying from this illness and the vaccine, social distancing is keeping us from procreating. If this keeps up, America will soon be extinct.

Joan Farr: Abolish 5G; it gave a family member COVID

I would like to see 5G abolished, since I know that it was used to give my family member Covid. These harmful and horrific structures should be removed.

My extensive research and experience shows that CIA agents are posing as minimally trained medical personnel in Wichita area hospitals to try and cause the death of patients from 'natural causes.'

Madison Horn: Deliver on the promise of expanding broadband access

Michael Franken: Information wars are a global threat with local consequences

The information wars are a global threat with local consequences. Franken chaired a high technology task force assigned to explore how an adversary could use cyber, media, space-based assets, and other disrupting means on the United States or its allies. Admiral Franken knows how to keep us safe. He's been doing it for years.

Mike Durant: Big Tech has censored the voices of conservatives

Big Tech has become an extension of the Democrat Party and censored the voices of conservatives across multiple platforms. They are Cancel Culture at its worst. Mike will work to make social media companies subject to the Communications Decency Act and remove any special protections granted to them that allow the censorship of free speech.

Sharif Street: Continue to invest in electric vehicle infrastructure

The clean energy sector is rapidly growing in Pennsylvania, allowing for the creation of thousands of jobs. We must continue to invest in electric vehicle infrastructure, specifically fast-charging highway stations, electric-fleet vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell technology. Sharif believes these investments would decidedly ensure a safer and cleaner environment for all Pennsylvanians and make an indelible impact on public health.

Thomas McDermott: Dramatically strengthen broadband coverage across the state

Having a healthy farm economy is good for small town and rural development, but we can do more - and that starts with dramatically strengthening broadband coverage across every corner of Indiana. It also includes protecting rural hospitals and health care, better housing and a small business economy that works.

John Flynn: 5G exposes people to EMF radiation & causes cancer

What are the health risks of 5G?

Besides the fact that corporations have not done the due diligence to properly investigate or publish a truthful or reliable statement on the long term bio-effects of 5G exposure to humans and the natural world, the basic effects are an increase in exposure to EMF radiation--at frequencies that have never been used (or tested) in consumer applications before. There have been no surveys to indicate the levels of 5G EMF radiation to which people will be exposed. There are no safe radiation levels of EMF. Dr. Joel Moskowitz from UC Berkeley School of Public Health has stated that, "We have no reason to believe that 5G is safe." In addition, The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has designated 5G EMF as a Class 2B carcinogen. Other research has demonstrated that EMF is genotoxic, a DNA destroyer.

John Fetterman: Invest in rural broadband & infrastructure

I'll fight for farmers' rights to repair their own equipment and take on Big Ag so Pennsylvania's small farmers can have a fair shot; this includes fighting for improved grant and loan opportunities for farmers of color. I'll also make sure that long-promised investments in rural broadband and other critical infrastructure make their way to where they're actually needed, because in this day and age, broadband internet access is almost as fundamental as electricity or running water.
