Tate Reeves: We must show being pro-life is not just being anti-abortion

We must show that being pro-life is not just about being anti-abortion. We have to do everything we can to make it easier on those moms who may be in unwanted pregnancies. I have signed legislation to provide help and resources to the 37 pregnancy resource centers that are located in every region of our state. And we're trying to do is focus on making adoption easier in Mississippi. We're focusing on improving our foster care system.

Asa Hutchinson: Americans want to restrict abortion with right exceptions

Now, that's a debate we're going to have as a country. But the fact is that, unless we have supermajorities in each of the houses, we're going to keep this issue in the states. I have said and I believe the American people are supportive of restrictions on abortion with the right exceptions in there. And that's why I have advocated for rape, incest, life of the mother. This is where I think the American people are. And it's a debate that's going to take place in both places.

Chris Christie: No federal ban on abortion without national consensus

We have argued as conservatives for 50 years that this should not be a federal issue, that Roe was wrong, and that it should be an issue decided state by state. We now have that opportunity to let states to make that decision state by state. Let's see what the states do here and see if they form a national consensus, because there's no way you're going to get 60 votes in the Senate for anything unless you have formed a national consensus.

Mike Pence: Err on the side of life to give unborn child every chance

In cases like an ectopic pregnancy, where the child simply cannot survive, I would assume that that would be covered by the life-of-the-mother exception. But in cases where it is simply the subjective judgment of a physician or a percentage potential, I always want to err on the side of life. I want to give that unborn child every chance at life. So I always want to err on the side of life, but I always want to recognize exceptions in tragic circumstances.
