CNN "State of the Union" interviews for 2023 races: on Foreign Policy
Doug Burgum:
Support Ukraine: an opportunity for US and NATO
This moment [in the war with Ukraine] shows the cracks with Russia and Putin losing his grip on that country. We have an opportunity, along with our NATO partners, in this situation, to really get behind and support Ukraine. Let's give them the support
they need. Let's get this war over now, instead of having it be protracted. I think there's a lot of instability here. And this is an opportunity for the United States and NATO to really secure a position of strength in Eastern Europe.

Mike Pence:
This is all about America being the leader of the free world
I think giving the Ukrainians what they need to repel the Russian invasion, I think is the best way to send a message to China that America is the leader of the free world, and we're not going to tolerate either Russia or China, should they attempt
to do so, to redraw international lines by force. This is all about America being the leader of the free world. And, if I'm president of the United States, we're going to lead from American strength.
