Asa Hutchinson: Supreme Court needs to be transparent on reporting rules

The Court needs to be transparent. They need to be clear on what their reporting rules are. They need to review those to make sure they're very similar to the other public officials and branches of government, which has broad reporting requirements. Clearly, they have not been sufficient. They've changed those. But I think they need this step so the American people understand what the rules are, and what is required, and is similar to other public officials.

Doug Burgum: Innovation is what drives country forward, not regulation

I believe strongly that the federal government overreaches in so many different areas. Many of these other things that presidential candidates and the current administration get dragged into really belong not just to the states. If we're going to be a country of freedom and liberty, then we need to make sure that we're focused on innovation. That's what's driven our country forward, not regulation, not coming up with a rule that tries to inject a viewpoint on everything.

Francis Suarez: Supports cryptocurrency but it needs to be regulated

When discussing the recent collapse of crypto exchange FTX, Suarez acknowledged that the technology "screams for regulation."

"I think there should have been regulation on what some of these custodial entities could do with custody assets," he said. "They're like banks--the kind of assets that they had were enormous--and what they were doing when you when you peel back the layers of the onion is frightening… there's a reason why some level of regulation exists already in the banking industry."

Francis Suarez: No need for a police force to investigate election fraud

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez says he doesn't think there's a need for a police force to investigate election fraud, as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has proposed.

"I don't see this as a major problem in our state or in our city, frankly," he said.

Larry Elder: Set up voter integrity website in 2021 recall election

Elder--echoing claims made by Trump during and after the 2020 election, as well as comments about the California race from right-wing media--has started to question the possible election results, telling supporters that his campaign is ready and willing to file lawsuits and pointing them to a campaign website portal that allows people to report possible issues. "We have a voter integrity board all set up - most of these are lawyers," Elder said.

Vivek Ramaswamy: Shut down the FBI and replace it with something new

I didn't say defund the FBI, I said shut down the FBI and replace it with something new.

I think it's a new apparatus built from scratch that actually respects the law instead of making it up. When you have a bureaucracy whose culture becomes so ossified, every once in a while, you need to turn it over.

Stephen Laffey: Close primaries to registered party members only

Reflecting on both his time as a Republican mayor in Rhode Island and looking at how things have gone since, Laffey has one major piece of advice for the state GOP: To close its primaries, meaning only registered Republicans can vote in them. Currently, any unaffiliated voter in Rhode Island can choose to vote in a party's primary of their choosing during the September primaries.

Stephen Laffey: Term limits for House and Senate

Laffey says if he won, he would come into office with a list of people to fire - and one of those people he thinks should leave is McConnell, the longtime Republican senator and minority leader in the upper chamber. Laffey argues for term-limits and thinks McConnell has stayed past his time. 'These people stick around way too long. Obviously I'm for term limits,' he said. 'But what's their plan to help the American people now?'

Vivek Ramaswamy: Raise voting age to 25 for the majority of U.S. voters

He leans outside of its traditional boundaries: At 38, he's the youngest Republican candidate for president and much younger than the 77-year-old Trump and the 80-year-old President Joe Biden. He has proposed raising the voting age to 25 for the majority of U.S. voters and advocates for significant reductions in the federal workforce. Additionally, he aims to make substantial cuts to institutions such as the FBI and the Education Department.

Mike Pence: Going to clean house among senior leadership at DOJ

I heard again and again from people about a deep concern about unequal treatment of the law. And it's why I said to people, if I'm elected president of the United States, we're not just going to have a new attorney general. We're going to clean house among all the senior leadership at the Justice Department. And we're going to appoint men and women of integrity who will have the confidence of Americans across the political spectrum for their commitment to the rule of law.

Nikki Haley: Clean up weaponized, politicized Department of Justice

Q: Do you trust the Department of Justice yourself?

HALEY: The first thing we're going to do is clean it up from the top and all of senior management. They have weaponized and put politics in the Department of Justice over years. That needs to end, that's not the role of the Department of Justice. Don't hide certain things, don't push out certain things. That's what people want from the Department of Justice. That's what they want from the intelligence agencies.

Vivek Ramaswamy: Fire 75% of the federal work force and shutter agencies

[On NY Times report on policy speech] :"Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican presidential candidate whose strident and sometimes unrealistic proposals have helped him stand out in the crowded primary field, said in a policy speech on Wednesday that he would fire more than 75 percent of the federal work force and shutter several major agencies," the New York Times reports.

"Mr. Ramaswamy also claimed he could make the changes unilaterally if he were to be elected president, putting forward a sweeping theory that the executive wields the power to restructure the federal government on his own and does not need to submit such proposals to Congress for approval."

Donald Trump: Throw out rules & articles after massive 2020 election fraud

Trump called for the termination of the Constitution to overturn the 2020 election and reinstate him to power Saturday in a continuation of his election denialism and pushing of fringe conspiracy theories.

"Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social and accused "Big Tech" of working closely with Democrats. "Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

White House spokesman Andrew Bates said Saturday that Trump's remarks are "anathema to the soul of our nation, and should be universally condemned. You cannot only love America when you win. The American Constitution brings the American people together--regardless of party--and elected leaders swear to uphold it.
