Gubernatorial campaign websites: on Homeland Security

Bob Ferguson: Strengthened consumer protections for veterans, military

Bob has a team that connects Washington veterans, service members, and their immediate family members to free legal services. Bob strengthened consumer protections for veterans and military personnel -- and vigorously enforces those protections. For example, he stopped tow companies that were illegally towing and selling vehicles belonging to servicemembers on active duty. He wrote and passed the bipartisan Pension Poacher Protection Act to protect the pensions of senior veterans.

Mike Ramone: Eliminate the state income tax on veterans benefits

For more than a decade, Mike has served on the Delaware House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee. Mike will work with legislators to join 39 other states and eliminate the state income tax on veterans benefits. He will expand access to critical mental health resources so the transition back into civilian life is as seamless as possible. And Mike will ensure that Delaware's veteran community is no longer forgotten by those they fought to defend.

Peter Duval: Reducing fuel use does less to prop up Russia

Our consumption connects many 'crises' and the war in Ukraine. Every time Vermonters fill up a tank (car, home, or farm), our demand for oil increases its price, affecting all global commodities and increasing inflation. That puts money in Putin's pocket. Through coordinated conservation, we could reduce fuel use while doing less to prop up Russia. We did it before and can do it again. I would lead the state government to make that effort--right now.
