Vivek Ramaswamy in Sunday Political Talk Show interviews during 2020-2024
On Abortion:
Supports state level ban at six weeks when brainwaves begin
[On restricting abortion]: "Life ends right when brainwaves end--that's how we determine when life ends on the back end. I think we should apply a consistent principle on the front end, that's around the six-week mark that brainwaves do begin,"
Ramaswamy told Fox News. "This is not an answer for the president, because I think the federal government should be out of this. But if you're a governor or you're dealing with this in the states, I can share with you my opinion on it," Ramaswamy said.

On Budget & Economy:
Unleash the animal inside the heart of the American economy
There's this false debate between spending cuts or raising taxes between Democrats and Republicans. I think we have forgotten the biggest ingredient to actually deliver us from our problems. That is GDP growth itself. GDP growth was over 4% in this
country until the early 70s. It's been less than 2.5% ever since. I think we need to unleash the American animal inside the heart of the American economy. And so that's why I'm taking aim at certain opponents or certain anti-growth measures.

On Education:
An advocate of school choice and government vouchers
Ramaswamy--who said, if elected, he would abolish the federal Department of Education and push against the unionization of public school teachers--held up institutions like the American Leadership Academy as vital to forcing public schools
to compete and therefore improve. Answering one of the student questions, he made clear he is an advocate of school choice and government vouchers to attend non-public schools.

On Foreign Policy:
Defend Taiwan by giving the Taiwanese people guns
Ramaswamy is convinced that he has figured out a way to stop China from invading Taiwan: Give the Taiwanese people guns. "You want China not to invade Taiwan? Here is something we can do: The NRA can open its branch next time in Taiwan," Mr.
Ramaswamy said. "And you want to stop [Chinese President] Xi Jinping from invading Taiwan, put a gun in every Taiwanese household, have them defend themselves, let's see what Xi Jinping does then. That is what it means to be an actual American."

On Gun Control:
The Second Amendment is our last line of defense
The Second Amendment is our last line of defense. You know who knew that? Our Founding Fathers knew it. The first shots that were fired in Lexington and Concord was because the British monarchy came to take the guns of the colonists. They came to take
the guns because they knew where the guns and bullets were stored. Think of that gun registry today. The Founding Fathers said, what the British monarchy did to us, we will create a government to make sure that government never does it to you.

On Principles & Values:
We should embrace our national identity and be proud of it
[On American Exceptionalism]: "Most Republican politicians are afraid of the word 'nationalism.' They shouldn't be. America is grounded in ideals & truth," Mr. Ramaswamy says. "We should embrace our national identity & be proud of it.
That's good for America & for the free world. If that makes me a nonwhite nationalist, so be it."

On Principles & Values:
Judeo-Christian values cornerstone of American identity
As for his faith, Ramaswamy is Hindu although he attended a Jesuit high school. "There is a moral foundation for equality and America's vision of equality starts with that moral foundation," he says. "I think we should be unapologetic about reviving
yes, those Judeo-Christian values, values that I happen to share through my Hindu faith as well, but revive those as the cornerstone of American identity to family, faith, patriotism. These are become four letter words..."

On Principles & Values:
Defining political debate is pro-American vs. anti-American
I do consider myself a conservative, but I don't believe that the defining political debate in this country is between Republicans and Democrats. I think it is between those who are fundamentally pro-American, whether you believe in the ideals
that set this nation into motion, from free speech and open debate, to meritocracy, to self-governance over aristocracy. Or are you anti- American? Do you actually wish to apologize for a nation whose existence is pinned to those ideals?

On Foreign Policy:
Shift focus from NATO to PATO, for Pacific/Asian security
[In discussing NATO and Ukraine, Ramaswamy says the US might] "stop paying for the security infrastructure of Europe and revisit the purpose of NATO itself. I see a more pressing need for PATO, the Pacific American Treaty Organization, than I see for
NATO, to actually rise to the occasion of the threat that we see in the 21st century," referencing China. He would seek to form that alliance with South Korea, Japan, India, Australia and "much of Southeast Asia" to push back on Beijing. "I think
there's a world in which Russia even plays a role with that," he said.
The idea of an "Asian NATO" has been around for years, though as of now there's no real movement to create one. The entrepreneur's ultimate vision is one of a "trilateral order"
where the top three powers are the U.S., China and Russia. The key, he argues, is severing ties between Moscow and Beijing to eliminate that support for Xi's government.
