A: The US-Israel relationship is extremely important for a variety of reasons. Our countries are bound closely by mutual interests, economic prosperity, regional security, historic, cultural and religious ties. The Middle East is more dangerous now than at any time since WWII, with Iran being the main culprit of instability in the Region. A strong relationship with Israel, both economically and militarily, has always been important to the US government's overall foreign policy in the Middle East.
