2024 MI Senate race: on Budget & Economy

Leslie Love: Provide financial assistance to disadvantaged businesses

One of her significant achievements was the passage of a bill that aimed to increase opportunities for disadvantaged and small business enterprises in Michigan. The legislation provided financial assistance and helped create new jobs, particularly in economically disadvantaged areas.

James Craig: It shouldn't take as much as it does to run the government

Taxes are the cost of living in a civilized society - however, tax policy should only be concerned with raising the amount needed to support the critical functions of government. At present, the government spends more than it makes and can't be trusted to be a responsible steward of the treasury. Simply put, it shouldn't take as much as it does to run the government. A vastly simplified tax code that lowers taxes across the board would address excessive government spending.
