2024 MI Senate race: on Foreign Policy

Elissa Slotkin: Taiwan Strait fundamental to Navy's freedom of navigation

Slotkin sounded more hawkish, calling Taiwan "fundamental" to American national security. "The Taiwan Strait is fundamental to our Navy's freedom of navigation," said Slotkin, a former top defense official in the Obama administration. "All the trade for everything we want to buy and we want to own goes through that one strait. So if China takes it, they literally get to be like the Coast Guard for our trade, and I refuse to accept that."

Mike Rogers: Among the first to sound alarm on security danger from China

Mike made his greatest mark in Congress through his service as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. He was among the first to sound the alarm on the economic and national security danger posed by China. Mike also fought Chinese efforts to steal American intellectual property, particularly working to protect Michigan's auto industry.

James Craig: Israel is an important ally and a committed partner

As one of the only democratic outposts in the Middle East, Israel is an important ally and a committed partner in the fight against terrorism, domestically and abroad. So long as "death to America" is chanted in the halls of power in Iran, Israel will remain a crucial bulwark against the rising influence of Iranian-supported extremism in the region. The war launched by Iran-backed Hamas in October 2023 underscores the seriousness of the threat Iran poses to global security.

James Craig: Making Ukrainians more safe makes Americans less safe

At a time when Americans are feeling the inflationary pinch at the pump and the supermarket, the last thing our elected leaders should be doing is sending billions of dollars more to Ukraine.

Making Ukrainians more safe makes Americans less safe. Due to the sending of billions of dollars in equipment and munitions, our own homeland's preparedness to withstand an armed attack is reduced.
