2024 MS Senate race: on Education

Ty Pinkins: All children should have access to excellent public schools

Ty will commit to making needed investments in education, including literacy programs, career and technical education, and addressing the teacher shortage, so that all children have access to excellent public schools. Ty believes every student should have access to a meaningful, high-quality education. And that starts with adequately and equitably funding public schools so all students have access to a quality education. It is our duty to provide a solid educational system.

Dan Eubanks: Support vouchers; eliminate Department of Education

Q: EDUCATION: I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

A: Agree. Taxpayers and parents should have the guaranteed parental right to educate their children in the manner of their choosing.

Q: I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

A: Strongly Agree. Education was never a power granted the federal government in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Education oversite should be the job of the state and local governments who know values of their people best. Currently the U.S. D.O.E. has become a propaganda machine and enforcement arm for progressive agendas to indoctrinate the hearts and souls of our children, by using federal tax dollars to threaten and coerce submission to those agendas.

Dan Eubanks: Student debt is voluntarily; don’t pay off their debt

Q: Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

A: Strongly Agree. Student debt is taken on voluntarily by individuals. It should be their responsibility to repay. To make the American taxpayer now the loan guarantor, instead of the willing party that willingly took on the debt, is both an offense & assault on the resources of those who have worked hard to manage their own finances and pay off their debt without assistance of tax dollar.
