2024 MS Senate race: on Government Reform

Ty Pinkins: We must make voting as easy and as efficient as possible

Since the 2020 election, voter suppression has increased in many states around the country. As voting is one of our most fundamental rights and the best way that the average American can make his or her voice heard, we must make voting as easy and as efficient as possible for all eligible citizens. No one should be denied a vote simply because lack of resources, lack of time, age, belonging to "the wrong party," or skin color prevents them from carrying out this sacred duty as a citizen.

Dan Eubanks: Signed a term limits pledge

Q: What are your thoughts on term limits?

A: I support term limits, and have signed a term limits pledge. It was never our founding fathers intent for individuals to go and remain in office for a lifetime. Our federal agencies need term limits as well, as the administrative state is where most of the power in our nation resides. Pushing one without the other, would create even more problems.

Dan Eubanks: Require voter ID; keep Electoral College

Q: ELECTIONS AND VOTING: People should be able to vote without photo identification.

A: Strongly Disagree. You can't buy alcohol, cigarettes, a plane ticket, enter a contract, or even drive without a photo ID, so why would we even consider not requiring it to ensure fair and legal elections?

Q: The Electoral College should be abolished.

A: Strongly Disagree. The Electoral College is the one protection built into our form of government that ensures that a few regions or states with high populations, don't control the representation and direction of the government for all the rest.

Q: JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY: The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

A: Strongly Disagree. Packing the court only seek to drive the agenda of whoever is in charge at the moment. We should leave it just the way it is.
