• Nella Domenici (R): Decrease. "Right now, this country, this state, this city is suffering from inflation and high interest rates. That's because we had massive federal spending." "Radical regulations" are hurting job growth.
• Martin Heinrich (D): Increase. Will "fight for… investments that cut costs," secure investments for agriculture, increase funding for technology and building infrastructure. Voted for federal funding increasing semiconductor manufacturing in the state.

On Energy & Oil: Opposes radical climate change agenda

Climate Change: Should climate change be a top priority?
• Nella Domenici (R): Mostly no. Opposes "the radical climate change agenda." "Oil and gas production is not the problem…. The problem is emissions." Promises to be "the most pro-oil and gas senator." Supports including oil, gas, nuclear, solar, and wind energy.
• Martin Heinrich (D): Yes. Climate change "poses an existential threat to our land and water." Voted to commit $369 billion to climate and clean energy, the biggest investment in US history. Urged the EPA to tighten emission standards. Added an electric appliance rebate to a major climate action bill in 2022.

Health Care: Increase or decrease government support for health care?
• Nella Domenici (R): Increase. "Will prioritize" lowering prescription drug costs, protecting Medicare and Medicaid, and upgrading healthcare quality. Supports mental health care for inmates.
• Martin Heinrich (D): Increase. Supported Obamacare. Supported empowering Medicare to negotiate drug prices. Sponsored a bill to expand Medicaid coverage for doulas and midwives for mothers. Voted for $35 Medicare insulin cap.

On Jobs: Higher minimum wage loses jobs

Minimum Wage: Raise federal minimum from $7.25/hr?
• Nella Domenici (R): Unclear. "$7 is very, very low. But when you talk about the minimum wage, you have to understand: Are we going to create jobs or lose jobs." High labor costs are "a big problem for many companies."
• Martin Heinrich (D): Yes. Voted in 2021 to raise to $15 over five years. In 2015, sponsored a bill to raise it to $12 by 2020: "It's time we give families a fair shot to get ahead and raise the federal minimum wage."

On Budget & Economy: Spending taxpayer dollars is not solution to every problem

Unlike Martin Heinrich who believes that spending taxpayer dollars is the solution to every problem, Nella, a highly regarded financial executive, will support fiscal responsibility in Congress.  She will protect taxpayers from wasteful spending.   She will protect Social Security and Medicare.  She will use oversight authority to eliminate fraud and abuse in government programs. She will prioritize policies that will drive sustained economic growth of our economy, especially by unleashing America energy.

On Principles & Values: Condemned with IFFY award for running "Issue-Free" campaign

We consider "issue-free campaigners" to be untrustworthy of holding elected office--the IFFY award means they are "iffy" officeholders. Voters need to know how the candidate will actually vote on key issues. Nella Domenici did not say--an insult to her constituency--and voters should complain loudly and often. In her case, she relies on to avoid the issues.

OnTheIssues undertook due diligence--periodically reading the candidate's campaign website; repeatedly searching statewide media; and even checking what our competitor issue archivists found--over the entire course of 2024. We managed only to answer 45% of VoteMatch questions by November 2024—our standard for first-time candidates is to find 70% of VoteMatch questions.

On War & Peace: Hamas must be destroyed; Israel-Hamas war is ours too

Hamas is a terrorist group and a proxy for Iran. Its leadership is committed to "wiping Israel off the face of the earth," and "Death to America."

Hamas' strategy has been and continues to be aberrationaly inhumane. Hamas must be destroyed as quickly as possible. The hostages must be freed.

The United States-Israeli partnership has been built on mutual interests and shared democratic values. The Israel-Hamas war is as much ours as it is Israel's. It is a conflict for democratic American values and against authoritarian Iranian values and influence--two opposing worldviews for the region.
