Frank LaRose in 2024 OH Senate race

On Abortion: Prevent taxpayer-funded abortions for public employees

Frank has previously been endorsed by pro-life advocates, and he fought for policies that not only protect the unborn but also support healthy, responsible alternatives, such as adoption.

He’s especially been a leader in protecting our most vulnerable children, helping to enact a law that gives babies prenatally diagnosed with Down syndrome a shot at life.

While others talk about voting to protect unborn children, Frank has the record to prove it. Early in his service as a legislator, he voted to ban late-term abortions, promote abstinence education, protect pro-life student groups, and prevent taxpayer-funded abortions for public employees. Frank believes the sanctity of life also means protecting the well-being of women facing an unplanned pregnancy by supporting crisis pregnancy centers and other programs to help expectant moms with the resources they need to build a loving home.

On Budget & Economy: Championed adopting federal balanced budget amendment

For more than two years now, inflation has outpaced wages under President Biden and Sherrod Brown. In fact, earnings have fallen each month since Biden-Brown passed their $1.9 trillion "stimulus." Ohioans are undeniably worse off. Overall prices in the Midwest have shot up 16.5% since Biden took office. Now, after ramping up the cost of living, Biden and Brown are eager to raise your taxes and are advocating red tape regulatory proposals that will wreck Ohio's oil and gas sector.

As a state senator, Frank did the hard work to balance Ohio's budget--every time. When he first went to the state senate, he voted to cut spending by $8 billion. Frank's core economic principle is that money is best spent by the people, not the government. Frank championed legislation to adopt a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Today, the contrast of state balanced budget requirements and the staggering amounts of debt being racked up in Washington could not be clearer.

On Civil Rights: Introduced LGBTQ non-discrimination bill in state senate

State Sen. Frank LaRose, R-Copley, said a "silent majority" of the party supports LGBTQ rights. When he introduced a non-discrimination bill, many of his Republican colleagues pulled him aside to express support. But when he asked for them to cosponsor the bill, they refused. Still, he said, "I see an evolution occurring in my party--and it can't come sooner."

On Crime: Oppose defunding the police; protect qualified immunity

Frank will work to reduce crime, protect public safety, support the recruitment of more police officers, and oppose every effort to defund the police. He'll support efforts to crack down on radical prosecutors and district attorneys who refuse to prosecute crimes and protect qualified immunity provisions that shield law enforcement officers from frivolous lawsuits. He'll also fight to block federal support for programs that promote the demonization of America as a "racist" society.

On Drugs: Led effort increasing penalties for opioid epidemic

Frank led the charge to combat the opioid epidemic by sponsoring Senate Bill 1, a bill to increase criminal penalties for trafficking or possessing fentanyl. Frank made clear that those who were addicted needed to be in treatment, "but those who are trafficking this poison need to be in prison." He cosponsored a bill allowing judges to give longer prison terms for major drug offenders, and he led the effort to increase penalties for violent career criminals.

On Education: Children hurt by the big government education establishment

Children across America are getting a raw deal from the big government education establishment. Education bureaucrats greatly prolonged the suffering of children during the pandemic by scheming to keep schools closed; then they loaded up lesson plans with gender radicalism, climate extremism and anti-American revisionist history; and, when parents complained, they got Joe Biden's FBI to label them "domestic terrorists."

As a state senator, Frank supported school choice, fought for parental rights, and invested in safer classrooms. He beat back the radical education union agendas, and, where schools weren't improving, he made sure parents had access to vouchers that gave them a choice in their child's education. Typically, failing schools plead for bigger budgets just to give pay increases to staff while kids get little or nothing in the classroom.

On Energy & Oil: End restrictions on oil/gas leasing, pipeline construction

Frank believes Ohio plays a key role in foreign policy because of our ability to provide vital energy resources and world class manufacturing capacity. Expanding domestic oil and gas production provides energy security to our country and reduces reliance on international energy sources. He'll end the Biden-Brown restrictions on oil and gas leasing, pipeline construction, refining and investing, and he'll fight the disastrous and tax-raising policies of the Green New Deal.

On Foreign Policy: Oppose communist aggression, counter Iranian terror

Frank will oppose communist aggression and treat it like the direct threat to America's economic strength and international security that it is. Frank will also stand with our allies around the world, especially the people of Israel. We should strengthen our strategic relationship with Israel and counter Iran as the leading cause of terror in the Middle East. Iran must never be allowed to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.

On Government: Subject costly regulations to Congressional approval

He chaired the committee that established greater oversight of executive agencies and accelerated legislative review of anti-business rules. As a U.S. Senator, Frank will insist on the same from legislators in Washington. He'll support the REINS Act, which mandates federal regulations with an economic impact of more than $100 million be subjected to Congressional review and approval.

On Government Reform: Election integrity can become undone if Democrats win

LaRose has made comments calling into question the integrity of the political party he opposes when it comes to elections. "Ohio's become THE leader for election integrity," he tweeted in April. "But that can all become undone if the Democrats win." In spite of Trump's continued false claims of widespread election fraud in the 2020 election that continue to this day, LaRose this year continued to tout Trump as an authority on election fraud.

On Homeland Security: Underfunding military is biggest threat to national security

Frank knows first-hand that freedom isn't free, and a strong national defense is essential to protecting democracy--both at home and around the world. For nearly 20 years, Sherrod Brown has worked to undermine and underfund our military, and he's been a staunch supporter of the Biden Administration's foreign policy failures. No one knows better than Frank LaRose that our biggest threat to national security is under-funding our military. Brown has consistently voted to cut funding for troops.

On Principles & Values: Great progress for freedom for all makes America exceptional

Frank believes we shouldn't allow our tax dollars to be spent teaching our kids to hate our country or to hate each other. We should teach our kids the truth: that America has a tragic history of racial injustice, but the great progress we've made toward our founding ideal of freedom and justice for all is one of the things that makes America exceptional. He's committed to building a society where we work together to achieve the ideals on which our nation was founded.

On Principles & Values: Children are a gift from God and not an inconvenience

Frank is a Christian, and a father of three girls. His faith teaches that children are a gift from God and not an inconvenience. He fought for policies that not only protect the sanctity of human life but also support the critical importance of families. As a U.S. Senator, Frank will take those same values to Washington.

On Tax Reform: The only candidate who has never voted to raise taxes

Frank is the only candidate in the race who has never voted to raise taxes, and he's the only candidate with a consistent record of lowering the tax burden on Ohioans. He supported the largest tax cuts in Ohio history, voting to cut personal income and small business taxes. He voted to eliminate the death tax in 2011 and worked to enact reforms, supported by the Ohio Farm Bureau, in 2017 that lowered taxes on Ohio's farmers and agriculture communities.
