Survey of 2024 Presidential campaign websites: on Education
Larry Elder:
It's time to break the monopoly of the public school system
School choice, which includes charter schools, vouchers, and tax-credit scholarships, levels the playing field for families from all socioeconomic backgrounds. By giving parents the right to vote with their feet, we send a clear message to
underperforming schools: shape up or risk losing students. It's time to break the monopoly of the public school system and embrace a future where every child has access to the quality education they deserve.

Nikki Haley:
Signed a charter school bill that expanded school choice
Growing up in rural South Carolina, Nikki knows what a difference a good education can make. As governor, Nikki successfully pushed for education reform that focused on improving education for South Carolina’s poorest students.
She also signed a charter school bill that expanded school choice, and signed a bill eliminating the federal government’s Common Core standards.
Wanting to do more for kids growing up like she did, Nikki founded the Original Six Foundation, a nonprofit that offers additional educational opportunities to kids in rural South Carolina.
Now, 11 years strong, the Original Six Foundation has helped more than 20,000 students.

Perry Johnson:
Give parents absolute control over children's education
If National Defense is the one thing that the federal government can and must do for us, Education may be its polar opposite--it has ALWAYS done better locally. I propose ending the Department of Education and getting the money back to the
schools instead of to the bureaucrats. Money should follow students so parents have absolute control over who is educating their children. No child should be stuck in a failing or activist school.

Will Hurd:
School choice is a great way to encourage competition
We can't explain the importance of education without talking about national security. Not only is a well-trained and educated society necessary for economic growth, but it is also vital to our safety and security. Education is a national security issue.
We need a workforce that understands why tech is important. We need our students to be ready to design the next encryption algorithms to protect our military, government, and private sector.
One of the best ways to improve education in our country is to introduce competition into the system. When there is competition, everyone benefits – especially our kids. I believe school choice is a great way to encourage competition.
It gives parents the power to choose the best school from where their child can get a proper education, regardless of where they live or how much money they have. And it forces schools to up their game in order to attract and retain students.

Stephen Laffey:
We have to commit to getting every kid out of public schools
Fix Our Educational System- Public schools are broken beyond repair; they need to be replaced with a system of choice for parents.
- We have to commit, right now, to getting every kid out of the public schools.
- A check needs to be sent to every family so children can finally learn unencumbered by onerous, abysmal, misguided education standards.
- Let the parents decide.

Chase Oliver:
Empower parents & students instead of federal involvement
EMPOWER PARENTS & STUDENTS IN EDUCATION: At the federal level, the best policy on education is to remove the federal government's involvement in education. I support abolishing the Department of Education and block granting
those funds back to states to be returned to taxpayers. I also support getting the government out of the student loan business so market forces can lower the cost of higher education over time.
