2024 VA Senate race: on Government Reform

Scott Parkinson: Will fight for term limits on Members of Congress

Tim Kaine has been on the ballot 9 times, held elected office for almost 30 years. That's why Virginia deserves an honest leader like Scott Parkinson who will fight for term limits on Members of Congress. Scott strongly believes the role of our federal government is that of a Constitutionally limited Republic with an explicit separation of powers to protect and defend our unalienable God-given rights within the powers vested in the Constitution to the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branch.

Scott Parkinson: Roll back government regulations that stifle opportunity

Parkinson plans to campaign on a promise to cap the growth of government spending and reduce taxation. He voiced support for doubling down on Trump-era tax cuts and rolling back government regulations "stifling American opportunity."

"I'm terrified about what the future of the American economy looks like for my kids," Parkinson said. "And so that will be a big, big element of our campaign, when we create a movement to rescue the middle class."

Scott Parkinson: Deconstruct the regulatory state that crowds out investment

Political fear caused an economic crisis, and it will take political courage to reverse course and improve the economic situation for all Americans. Restoring energy independence, enacting pro-growth tax reforms that incentivize job creation, risk-taking, and entrepreneurship, and deconstructing the administrative, regulatory state that crowds out investment and innovation are just a few ways policymakers can get the economy humming again so that household costs decrease.

Scott Parkinson: Legitimate concerns about election integrity & voter rolls

Asked if he believes the 2020 presidential election was free and fair, he expressed concerns about the accuracy of voter rolls. Parkinson said he would not describe the election as being stolen, as Trump falsely has, but believes there are "legitimate concerns" around the country about election integrity.

Hung Cao: You had better be required to show an ID to vote

We demand election integrity. We cannot have a democratic republic if we cannot trust the legitimacy of our elections. If you can show an ID to go to a movie theater, you had better be required to show an ID to vote. It should be easy to vote, hard to cheat, and open for all to see.

Hung Cao: Lifelong politicians are a cancer to our republic

Q: What are your thoughts on term limits?

A: Politics was never meant to be a career. Our founding fathers were farmers, shop owners and various other professionals, returning to their jobs after serving a few years. Lifelong politicians are a cancer to our republic.
