Scott signed H.717, An act relating to providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine. "We are here today to send a message to the people of Ukraine and to the tyrant in Russia: We stand united with Ukraine--for its freedom, and with
its people," Governor Scott said in his remarks. "The fact is, Ukraine's fight to protect their people, their rights and their land--and what that means for democracies across the globe--is too important for us to sit out. We must do our part."

$4 Million in Brownfield Revitalization for 7 Communities
Governor Scott announced today the state of Vermont is committing $4,058,184 from the Vermont Brownfields Revitalization Fund that promotes the productive reuse of contaminated sites to clean up properties in seven communities. "Cleaning
up unused brownfields and turning them into economic opportunities has been a priority for my team," said Governor Scott. "Transforming these brownfields into job creators and much needed housing is exactly the kind of work Vermont needs advance."

Moral obligation to be welcoming of people around the globe
I have always believed that the United States, and Vermont, have a moral obligation to be welcoming of people around the globe seeking a better life and new opportunities.Once we welcome new Vermonters to our communities,
it's critical that they are supported and welcomed with open arms.
The opening of the new office for the Vermont Afghan Alliance is a critical step towards creating a sense of community and a place to come together.
