Semi Bird: Government has money for Ukraine, not doing good for America

The government has plenty of money to bail out banks, ship off to Ukraine and put illegal aliens in hotels... but when it comes time to doing good for the American people we're always too broke. Isn't it a shame?

Semi Bird: Prevent CCP from owning land in Washington State

Q: NATIONAL SECURITY: The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

A: Strongly Agree. I will propose legislation that will prevent the CCP from owning land in Washington State. Further, we must create a counter intelligence fusion center to protect state infrastructure from this threat.

Hilary Franz: Special relationship with Israel more important than ever

[On the Israel-Gaza War]: "I believe that Israel, like any sovereign nation, has the right to defend itself against threats. Hamas must be destroyed so the events of October 7th cannot repeat and peace can be on the horizon again," Franz said in her position paper. "The special relationship between the United States and Israel is rooted in common values of democracy and equality and has stood for decades against threats to these values. It is more important today than ever."

Raul Garcia: Born in Cuba; passion for service from authoritarian regime

According to a press statement from Garcia's campaign: "Growing up in an authoritarian regime gave Raul the passion and appreciation for public service. He realizes Washington needs fresh leadership to revitalize our state. He founded Opportunity for Washington as a non profit, nonpartisan effort promoting education and change. He also founded the Partnership for Food Security in 2020 to promote vaccination, particularly among the Latino community. His desire to educate and change people's attitude towards the positive future of this great state and our great country continues every day."

Garcia was born in Cuba. He lived in Madrid, Spain, before moving to Miami at the age of 11. In Washington state, he has worked as a trauma and emergency medicine physician. He is currently the medical director of Toppenish Hospital. Garcia lives in Yakima with his wife Jessica and five children.
