2024 WY Senate race: on Tax Reform

Scott Morrow: The rich and powerful pay the least amount of tax ever

The rich and powerful pay the least amount of tax ever since it was adopted via the 16th amendment to the US Constitution in 1909. This historical reduction in their taxes has added trillions of dollars to the debt. The top marginal rate today is the lowest in history at 37%.

Please be admonished that Social Security and Medicare are funded by workers earned income out of every pay check they receive and are not part of the debt or the budget of the USA. All earned income ceases paying into social security when they reach the current cap of $168,600 meaning our congressional delegation pays zero into social security from the last $5400 of earned income and unearned income has no social security flat tax whatsoever. ONLY workers are funding social security and Medicare. Monopolies contribute zero dollars to these essential programs. Corporate profits fund zero dollars for these programs. I intend to support and introduce legislation to tap these free loaders for contributions to these programs.
