A: Oppose. Crimes of passion are not deterred by sentencing. In economic "crimes," like prohibition, it only raises prices.
A: Stricter punishment may reduce certain crimes which are either not punished at all, or are very lightly punished, such as white collar crime, however, in most types of crime, we are already over-punishing people.
