State of Arizona secondary Archives: on Education

Jim Lamon: I will sponsor a nationwide Right to School Choice

Teachers' union bosses and the Department of Education are failing our kids. Far too many children have had their education possibilities limited by their socioeconomic status. All children deserve a chance to have a bright future, and every parent deserves the right to choose the best educational environment for their child. I will sponsor a nationwide Right to School Choice to empower parents and give children from all backgrounds the opportunity to receive an excellent education.

Kari Lake: The "woke" curriculum is racism; keep it out of our schools

Arizona students need a great education, they deserve a great education. I will stop the "woke" curriculum overtaking our schools, and ensure our kids are given the tools they need to grow and be successful in every phase of life. No child should ever be taught that their skin color or where they come from is what defines them. That is racism, pure and simple, no matter what anyone wants to call it. This craziness is teaching kids to be suspicious of, even fear, their classmates. It must stop.

Kari Lake: We're going to fund students not systems

I will ensure that our schools have the resources and support they need to give our kids their very best chance at a lifetime of success. I will ensure that parents have every available option to give their kids the best education possible-- great public schools, great charter schools, great technical schools, and real support for homeschool parents. We're going to fund students not systems.

Steve Gaynor: Given parents choice over school mask and vaccine policies

[On COVID]: "Some school districts are enforcing mask and vaccine policies in direct conflict with Arizona law. We need executive action that will give families the freedom to choose a school aligned with their values and preferences regarding masks and vaccines. I therefore call on Gov. Ducey to issue an Executive Order to Provide Empowerment Scholarship Accounts to parents of students in school districts that enforce mask and vaccine policies and who want their children to attend a different school."

Stuart Starky: Additional funding for Master Teachers

My first legislative priority will be to fund education and make it a system which focuses on teaching our children. Education needs to be improved and teachers trained on our core issues of Math, Reading and Sciences. I will offer money to help teachers become Master Teachers. This will create a learning environment devoted to our students.
