Mike Johnston: Additional reporting transparency about police incidents

[Mike has] drafted a bill, which will require additional reporting transparency about police incidents while providing additional funding for community policing efforts.

Victor Mitchell: More prisons; less parole; harsher punishments

Mitchell supports the following principles regarding crime.
• Increase state funds for construction of state prisons and hiring of additional prison staff.
• Support the death penalty in Colorado.
• Support programs to provide prison inmates with vocational and job-related skills and job-placement assistance when released.
• End parole for repeat violent offenders.
• Strengthen penalties and sentences for drug-related crimes.
• Minors accused of a violent crime should be prosecuted as adults.
• Require that crimes based on race, ethnic background, religious belief, sex, age, disability, or sexual orientation be prosecuted as hate crimes.
• Increase state funding for community centers and other social agencies in areas with at-risk youth.
• Strengthen sex-offender laws.
• Support the restriction of the sale of products used to make methamphetamine (e.g. tablets containing pseudophedrine, ephedrine and phenylpropanolamine).
