KLOBUCHAR: Yes, I do.
KENNEDY: If you look at the record, she said she would support the Senate immigration bill, that would give benefits to 12 million people that didn’t have benefits. $5 billion cost to Social Security. If you included Medicare and Medicaid, that’d be $50 billion.
A: I believe we need consistency. If some immigrants are required to follow certain criteria, all immigrants must follow it. Otherwise, eliminate the criteria and let anyone in. As far as the violence in Mexico and South America, we must draw attention to how the American government contributed to this problem with the war on drugs and the sale of assault weapons and trafficking to drug cartels. The American government needs to stop interfering in foreign affairs. We've created and funded a variety of problems for certain political gains. As far as abandoned children from South America & Mexico, I'd be supportive of Americans stepping forward to foster or adopt these children. If we want to help, let's help directly. Additionally, the citizens who have faced dangerous circumstances as a result of violent illegal immigrants deserve justice. Clearly, the problem is multi-faceted, and I am ready to address each part if elected.
