On Budget & Economy: Government stimulus is repugnant in a free country

Q: Do you support or oppose the policy, `Stimulus better than market-led recovery`?

A: Oppose; stimulus is a government solution which is repugnant in a free country. The free-market will not only help to bring about recovery but will also minimize recession--but only if it is a truly free market without monopolies and monopolistic mega-corporations that espouse anti-competitive practices.

On Foreign Policy: American exceptionalism is based on our founding principles

Q: Do you support or oppose the policy, `Support American Exceptionalism`?

A: That is up to the individual. As a historian, I can demonstrate the astounding `exceptionalism` of America's influence, but what created this exceptionalism is the founding principles of individual liberty, self-ownership, private property, free association, and the free market, not so much our identity as a distinct `nation.` It is what America stands for that is exceptional, and it should be promoted by means of example, education, and inspiration throughout the world.

On Free Trade: TPP and NAFTA lead to dissolution of national sovereignty

Q: Do you support or oppose the policy, `Support & expand free trade`?

A: Oppose; `free trade` as it is currently being promoted is a path to political union and the dissolution of national sovereignty. The anti-democratic, dysfunctional, and dictatorial nature of the European Union is evidence of this. TPP and NAFTA are identical pacts to the original European Common Market that eventually became the EU.
