Cal Cunningham: Supports Equality Act, and overdue Equal Rights Amendment

Cal believes that the story of North Carolina belongs to all of us. For Cal, that means standing with the LGBTQI community and communities of color in the fight against regressive policies. Cal supports advancing the long-overdue passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), passing the Equality Act to protect LGBTQI North Carolinians from discrimination in housing and the workplace, reforming our criminal justice system, and restoring the Voting Rights Act.

Chris Rey: AdWatch: Faith, family, and service give my life meaning

The Rey campaign already has a campaign logo and a slogan ("Believe"), a website and a professionally produced launch video. The video is called "The Kiss" in reference to a kiss Rey's grandmother gave him the moment he was declared the winner in his first mayoral election in 2011, he said. "She's gone now, but Nov. 8, 2016, which is Election Day next year, would have been her 84th birthday," Rey said on the video. "So it is with the memory of my grandmother in my mind and heart that I announce my candidacy for the United States Senate in the great state of North Carolina."

"Faith, family, service--that is what animates my life and gives it meaning," Rey said in his video.

Mark Walker: Called Congresswomen "eye candy" during press conference

Rep. Mark Walker called his female colleagues "eye candy" during a press conference. "The accomplished men and women of the RSC. And women, if it wasn't sexist, I would say the RSC eye candy, but we'll leave that out of the record," Walker said.

"During a press event today, I made a flippant remark meant to be light-hearted, but fell short," Walker said in a statement. "I'm proud of the women who serve in Congress, and in the leadership of the Republican Study Committee."

Dale Folwell: Increase pre-tax credit for childcare

Folwell said a tax credit wouldn't fully solve a housing affordability problem that's closely tied to other economic challenges, like inflation and the cost of childcare. "The best, simplest and most efficient way to solve several problems at one time is to increase the pre-tax credit that people can deduct out of their paychecks to pay for childcare," he said, adding that such a program would include "the responsibility to educate people, especially middle-, lower- and fixed-income individuals, about how this saves them money in the long run." Folwell pointed out that the typical cost of childcare is much larger than the maximum amount you can have withheld from your paycheck before taxes.

Mark Robinson: Viral speech: "ain't but two genders!"

Q: Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services?

: Strongly Disagree. No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises.

Q: Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation?

A: Strongly Agree. As a Christian, I believe that God created man and woman in his own image. (I gave a speech about this a few years ago--it went viral with the line "ain't but two genders!'.) The radical gender ideology of the extreme left must be stopped.

Q: Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports?

A: Strongly Agree. The radical gender ideology of the extreme left must be stopped. If elected, I will protect our kids' classrooms, schools and sports teams from radical gender ideology.
