On Abortion: States would need to enact legislation if Roe overturned

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IF ROE V. WADE IS OVERTURNED? If overturned, then each state would need to pass legislation that protects women's reproductive health care. At least 15 states and Washington, D.C., have enacted laws that would automatically keep abortion legal if Roe is overturned.

On Drugs: For medical marijuana, addiction an issue for legalization

Beaufort Mayor Rett Newton is also running in the Democratic primary. He said legalizing medical marijuana is a "no-brainer." As for full legalization, he said his "only reservation ... is ... we need to fully understand the potential for addiction...and ensure we have the regulatory framework in place to minimize addiction."
