Q: Should Tennessee restrict marriage to a union only between a man and a woman?
A: No. Be tolerant, don't discriminate, don't hate, be bipartisan.
A system that is rigged against half the work force is a system that does not work for Tennesseans. Unfair pay practices not only hurts Tennessee families in the form of lost wages but it also hurts families with reduced pensions, retirement benefits, and diminished Social Security benefits in the future.
Women working in the same jobs as men still make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. It is unfathomable that there is a debate on this issue in 2014. This is not the 1950's.
