Policymakers abroad: on Energy & Oil
Old Testament:
God maintains cold & hot seasons, not climate change
I take my religion seriously--I always say I'm a Jesus guy--so why wasn't I buying into what evangelists such as Rev. Richard Cizik were saying?
Cizik was being sponsored by many environmentalist groups who were pushing the idea that evangelicals were on board with global warming hysteria. Many times during my global warming fight,
I turned to Day 36 of "Promises" which features one of my favorite Bible verses, Genesis 8:22:
As long as the earth remains
There will be springtime and harvest,
Cold and heat, winter and summer,
Day and night.
And this is what a lot of alarmists forget: God is still up there, and He promised to maintain the seasons and that cold and heat would never cease as long as the earth remains.

Vladimir Putin:
Green transition should be smooth instead of drastic steps
Putin blamed the transition to green energy and low investment in the extraction industries for what he said were "hysteria and some confusion" on European markets where energy prices are surging. He told a government meeting that it was vital that the
green transition happened smoothly and criticized what he described as "unbalanced decisions" and "drastic steps". He called for the sustainable development of the oil, gas and coal sectors and said it was important that was not neglected.

Vladimir Putin:
We'll end up in caves if we rely on solar/wind power
Producing energy without carbon emissions will send humanity back to the prehistoric period, Putin told an investment forum. "When these ideas of reducing energy production to zero or relying only on solar or wind power are promoted, I think
humanity could once again end up in caves, simply because it won't consume anything," Putin said. "The technology is currently such that we simply won't be able to preserve civilization without hydrocarbons, nuclear energy or hydropower," Putin said.

Xi Jinping:
Promote green, low-carbon and sustainable development
We need to promote green transition. A sound eco-environment is the most basic public good that benefits all. We in the Asia-Pacific should make its post-pandemic recovery a green one and take the lead in making a science-based response to climate
change. Working together, all of us can embark on a path of green, low-carbon and sustainable development.China's carbon reduction action is a profound economic and social transformation.
However formidable the task may be, we will work tirelessly to make our contribution to promoting global green transition. Our carbon reduction action will also require massive investment, thus creating huge market opportunities and room for
cooperation. The business communities across the Asia-Pacific are warmly welcome to join us in this endeavor. Together, we can usher in a future of green development.

Liz Truss:
Build domestic supply so we're not dependent on Russia
We want to work with friends and partners like the United States, like our friends in Europe, as well as building more of our own domestic supply, more nuclear, more renewables, working in areas like hydrogen,
because we can never be in a position again when we are so dependent on the global spot price and, essentially, regimes like Russia.

Rishi Sunak:
UK has a responsibility to lead climate change financing
The Sunak Government also risks diminishing their soft power status on issues such as climate change, in part due to the uncertainty over whether Mr. Sunak will attend the UN COP 27 Climate Summit in Egypt. Despite reports that the PM
chose to opt-out in order to focus on domestic issues, No.10 has confirmed Mr. Sunak will attend. This initial uncertainty comes after the UK hosted COP 26 in 2021, where Mr. Sunak argued Britain has a "responsibility" to lead climate change financing.
