Barbara Mikulski in MD Senate Debate

On Health Care: Oppose a prescription plan that subsidies the drug companies

You better believe I voted against that Bush prescription drug plan. It helped insurance companies, and gave great subsidies to the drug companies. I wanted to have a prescription drug benefit that would help seniors.

On Social Security: Opposed to turning over Social Security to Wall Street

I am absolutely opposed to turning over Social Security to Wall Street, where we will have to deal with either the bull of political promises or the bear of the market.

On War & Peace: Pipkin had no plan for the war and for peace

PIPKIN: I believe it’s important that we fight the terrorists in Baghdad, rather than in Bethesda or Baltimore or on the Bay Bridge.

MIKULSKI: What a poor civilian leader Pipkin has turned out to be, to either help Bush or support our troops. He didn’t have a plan for the war and he certainly didn’t have a plan for peace.
