Deb Haaland: Create an environment that is conducive to startups

We can use the resources we have here to stimulate small business and create an environment that is conducive to startups. Through innovative programs like technology transfers we can harness the talents of our state and create a positive environment for local business ventures. Increasing minimum wage would give families the increase in income so badly needed by everyday New Mexicans. This income would go directly back into our LOCAL economy and stimulate our state's stagnant job market.

Linda McMahon: SBA should respond quickly in emergencies

During her confirmation hearing, McMahon identified improving the SBA's disaster relief programs as her first priority. "Disasters don't pick a time. They happen. And we need to be prepared for those disasters. I don't know how effective they've been. I know that when Sandy hit a few years ago, Hurricane Sandy --it was a delay in time of response from the SBA--we have to be ready for disaster relief. When our small businesses are put out of business for a while, the economy suffers," she said

Stephen Noble Smith: Help shift who has wealth and political power in our state

Q: What about using the line-item veto as power over the budget?

A: We will use whatever power we have, including the line-item veto, in our to shift wealth and political power towards working class people.

Q: Which gubernatorial power do you personally consider the most important?

A: The two main responsibilities of West Virginia's governor should be to help shift who has wealth and political power in our state. For too long, Governors have served as the agents of out-of-state land companies and CEO's. It's time for our state to be put in the hands of the people.

Yana Ludwig: Socialism instead of trying to make capitalism nicer

Economic Insecurity: with almost half of Americans unable to afford a $400 emergency, we are at a crisis point economically, and I do not believe that our continued rush toward privatization and trying to make capitalism nicer is going to cut it. I am a socialist who focuses on local empowerment (in the form of strong unions and worker-owned cooperatives), state control (in the form of public utilities such as public banks and pharmaceutical entities) and limiting the role of the federal government to things that truly make sense to collectivize at that level, including healthcare, environmental protections and human rights guarantees.

Wilbur Ross: CEO of International Coal Group, plus Steel & Textiles

In 2002, Ross established the International Steel Group (ISG), which he established through buyouts and mergers. The ISG had begun with the Pennsylvania-based Bethlehem Steel Corporation when it filed for bankruptcy in 2001. Ross was made chairman of the board of the ISG and, in 2003, he took ISG public.

During a bankruptcy auction in 2004, Ross purchased Horizon Natural Resources and created the International Coal Group (ICG). Ross sold ICG for $3.4 billion in 2011 to Arch Coal, Inc., which is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ross' firm merged five companies into the International Textile Group (ITG) in 2004. Ross served as the ITG chairman. The companies continued to operate under their respective names and the group's headquarters are located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Ross founded the International Automotive Components Group in 2006 and served as the chairman of the group until 2014, when he stepped down to take up a position with the Bank of Cyprus.

Marc Molinaro: Corporations that would remain in NY without cash grants

New York hands out billions of dollars in cash grants and tax credits to corporations that don't need it - that would remain in New York without public dollars. Our priorities have gotten totally out of line.

Banning cash grants to corporations and pay-to-play donations are also essential steps toward taking Albany back and returning this government to the people.
