Chris Sununu: Increase availability of baseload power; reduce energy rates

On energy: "The best way to reduce our energy rates is by increasing the availability of baseload power throughout New England. Our limited power supply into the grid is not sustainable and keeps rates too high for manufacturing companies to succeed. All options for increasing power supply must be brought to the table but implemented with New Hampshire's best interests."

Cornett is expected to gain support from the independent oil industry, while Stitt would be backed by Chamber of Commerce members and the largest oil producers.

Reilly Neill: Find commonality to address man-made climate change

When I was elected by my community to serve in the Montana State House, I went to Helena and discovered a level of dysfunction in our state government that was disheartening but l relished the opportunity to interject leadership on key issues and spearheaded efforts on both sides of the aisle on a hot-button political issue: climate variability, as we agreed to call it, or man-made climate change, by focusing on the impacts of water use in the state. I recognized that even within the system of bi-partisan dysfunction, I had the ability to get Montana's lawmakers to find commonality and work together to get important things accomplished by using skills of objectivity and fairness.

I'm interested in engaging with both sides of the aisle going forward to make sure Montana is prepared for climate variability in our state agencies. We need to build resiliency into our state systems to prepare for the future.

Ron DeSantis: No delay on Keystone pipeline for security & safety study

Ballotpedia.org analysis of Congressional voting record on energy issues: Keystone Pipeline Amendment: DeSantis voted NAY on House Amendment 69, which would have amended HR 3 to "require that the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, in consultation with the Department of Homeland Security, conduct a study of the vulnerabilities of the Keystone XL pipeline to a terrorist attack and certify that necessary protections have been put in place." The amendment failed on May 22, 2013, with a vote of 176 - 239 and was largely along party lines.

Ryan Zinke: Climate is changing; Man is an influence but what can we do?

Asked by Bernie Sanders whether he thought climate change was a hoax, Zinke said, "Climate is changing. Man is an influence. I think where there's debate on it is what that influence is and what can we do about. As the [head of] the Department of the Interior, I will inherit, if confirmed, the US Geological Survey. We have great scientists there. I'm not a climate science expert, but I can tell you I'm going to become a lot more familiar with it. And it will be based on objective science."

Yana Ludwig: See the realities of climate disruption unflinchingly

Living in a "fossil fuel state"--that currently relies heavily on fossil fuels for our economic stability--we need people in DC who will both see the realities of climate disruption unflinchingly AND craft policy that ensures people's economic needs are met. I believe, like a handful of others currently in office, that economic rights are human rights.

We must adopt the stance that we are all in this together and work for a collective solution to our economic woes, human rights crisis and climate crisis as one package.

I also believe firmly that blunting big corporations' power and empowering local communities to develop their own locally-appropriate economic answers is a critical cornerstone to the way forward for Wyoming and the US.

We need to pass and flesh out the Green New Deal, with special attention on fossil fuel states making the transition in a positive way for our communities, and the bipartisan Carbon Fee and Dividend bill.
